A chain sprocket for link chains, for example, round link chains or profiled steel chains, has chain pockets for horizontal chain links. Chain pockets for vertical chain links are also provided. The chain pockets for the vertical chain links are separated from one another by teeth. The tooth flank surface of the tooth that a vertical chain link contacts under the effect of a load is dimensioned and profiled in a special manner. The dimensioning is such that up to a defined chain load the vertical chain link does not contact the tooth flank with its nose. A contact between the tooth flank surface and the nose of the respective chain link occurs only above a defined chain load.

In a rope hoist ( ), the rope drum ( ) is rotatably mounted in a roughly C-shaped frame ( ). To mount the rope drum ( ), an appropriate bearing arrangement ) is provided at one side, whereas at the other side the mounting of the rope drum ( ) is effected solely via the output shaft ( ) of the gearing ( ). In a travelling trolley assembly, the two side frame bars ( ) which extend on either side of the running rail ( ) are connected to one another via two connecting columns ( ). The connecting columns ( ) are smooth and cylindrical on the outside are fitted into receiving or sliding-guidance devices which are formed in the side frame bars ( ) below the running rail ( ). In order to adjust the distance between the two side frame bars ( ) and to fix the distance which has been set, receiving devices, through which a threaded rod ( ) which is parallel to the connecting column ( ) passes, are situated in the vicinity of the connecting columns ( ). The distance is adjusted and fixed with the aid of screw threads ( ), preferably lock nuts, which rest on the connecting rod ( ). This type of fixing arrangement does not damage the shape of the guide columns ( ), so that dismantling is easy to carry out at any time.

In a rope hoist ( ), the output shaft ( ) of the gearing ( ) is provided in one piece with an end plate ( ). This end plate ( ) is designed in such a way that it can be inserted into a locating seat ( ) of the tubular rope drum ( ). The end plate ( ) is screwed in the rope drum ( ) by means of radial fitting screws ( ). There is also a recess ( ) at the other end of the rope drum ( ), and a similar end plate ( ) can be fastened in this recess ( ) in the same manner. This other end plate carries a bearing journal ( ). On account of this arrangement, the manufacture of the rope drum ( ) and the entire assembly are simplified, complicated shaft joints between the output shaft ( ) and the rope drum ( ) being dispensed with on account of the mounting of the rope drum ( ) by means of the output shaft ( ) of the gearing ( ). In addition, the rope hoist ( ) may be split up into comparatively small subassemblies for dispatch.
