A conditioning roller assembly includes a first conditioning roller which is rotatably mounted on a first holder, a second conditioning roller which is rotatably mounted on a second holder, and a pivoting arrangement which includes a first component and a second component which are connected together by a hinge with an axis extending parallel to the longitudinal axes of the conditioning rollers, and a resilient arrangement for providing pre-tensioning of the conditioning rollers. The first holder and/or the second holder is mounted so as to be pivotable in each case about a pivot axis relative to the associated first component and/or second component for servicing purposes.

A conditioning device for a forage harvester is equipped with a first roller, profiled in the axial direction, and a second roller, also profiled in the axial direction. The two rollers are rotated, around their axes, in opposite directions and are aligned parallel to one another. An element, profiled, in the axial direction, in a manner complementary to the profile of the first roller and adjacent to the circumference of the first roller, for the removal of crop residues from the roller, extends in a circular arc over a part of the circumference of the first roller.

Conditioning device for a forage harvester

A self-propelled forage harvester is provided having a frame, a chopping drum, an accelerator arranged downstream of the chopping drum and a channel between the chopping drum and the accelerator. The channel has a section in which a conditioning unit or a hollow shell can be selectively inserted. The conditioning unit and the hollow shell are jointly supported on a pivot arm pivotable by way of a displacement drive about a pivot axis running horizontally and transverse to the forward direction. The conditioning unit is mounted on the pivot arm rotatably about an axis parallel to the pivot axis. The conditioning unit cooperates with the frame by way of a positive guide, which has the effect that the conditioning unit rotates about the axis in the same direction as the pivot arm.

An agricultural harvesting machine is provided having a frame, a crop processing unit that is movable with respect to the frame between an operating position, in which it is inserted into a channel through which crop can flow, and a non-operating position outside the channel. A transport unit is provided with a first arm articulated to the frame of the harvesting machine pivotably about a first vertical axis, a winch and a traction device connected to the winch for lifting the crop processing unit out of its non-operating position and for moving the crop processing unit into a position outside the harvesting machine. The transport unit further is provided with a second arm holding the traction device and articulated to the outer end of the first arm pivotably about a second vertical axis.

A kernel processing assembly includes a first roll supported in bearings on a first frame element and a second roll supported in bearings on a second frame element, that forms a slot with the first roll through which harvested crop can be conducted. A rotary bearing is arranged on the first side of the slot that retains the first frame element and the second frame element free to pivot against each other. A pre-load arrangement is arranged on the second side of the slot that pre-loads the first frame element and the second frame element against each other. The rotary bearing includes a shaft to which an eccentric is fastened that retains the first frame element free to pivot, and that the shaft is supported in bearings, free to rotate, relative to the second frame element, so that the width of the slot can be varied by rotating the shaft about its longitudinal axis.

A bearing arrangement for a harvesting machine, including a bearing configured to couple a rotatable shaft with a chassis of the harvesting machine, a first element coupled with the shaft so as to be rotatable therewith, and a second element coupled with the chassis of the harvesting machine. Additionally, at least a portion of the second element is substantially concentrically enclosed by the first element and the first and second elements cooperate to define a contactless seal configured to substantially prevent contamination of the bearing. The shaft is coupled with a product treating element, such as a crop feeding and/or processing element that is driven or idle rotating.

Bearing arrangement for a harvesting machine

The invention concerns an arrangement for the adjustment of the position of a shearbar with respect to knives of a chopper assembly. The arrangement includes a first adjusting drive to position the first end of the shearbar at a predetermined first spacing from the knives and a second adjusting drive to position the second end of the shearbar with respect to the knives until a spacing measurement arrangement indicates that the spacing between the shearbar and the knives is less than a threshold value. An analogous procedure is applied to the first adjusting drive. On the basis of the measurement values the shearbar is brought into a position that corresponds to a desired gap between the shearbar and the knives. Each of the first spacing and the second spacing are greater than the desired gap between the shearbar and the knives.

Crop conveyor tine stripper

A wide pick-up of a large round baler is mounted for floating or pivoting vertically about the axis of rotation of a rotary secondary conveyor that includes a pair of centering augers at its opposite ends. Provided at each side of the pick-up is a float spring assembly including a coil tension spring and an L-shaped link. Each coil tension spring has its upper end coupled to the baler main frame by a bracket receiving a rod joined to a spring end retainer, and has its lower end defined by a hook which is received in a hole provided in an upper end of the L-shaped link. The lower end of the link is defined by a short leg which projects forwardly beneath lower rear structure of the pick-up frame and contains a kidney-shaped aperture in which a cylindrical coupler is received, the coupler being fixed to a side member of the pick-up frame. The side members of the pick-up frame extend upward and rearward beside respective inner ends of the centering augers and respectively carry the coupling which pivotally mounts the pick-up frame for pivoting about the axis of rotation of the secondary conveyor. A pan structure includes separate front and rear sections with a lower rear portion of the front section forming a gap with the rear section and being oriented so that it retains small crop pieces during normal operation and so that crop pieces slide through and water drains through the gap when the pick-up is in its raised transport position.

A large round baler includes a wide pick-up which lifts crop from the ground and transfers it to a rotary conveyor including crop centering augers which narrow the crop flow to the width of the baling chamber before it passes through the chamber inlet. The augers are each equipped with crop lifters and associated with each auger is an auger pan structure formed in such a way as to include a relief area into which foreign objects engaged by the crop lifters may go before they are ejected by the rotating crop lifters.

A stripper for lifting crop off flat rigid tines of a rotary conveyor is molded of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene. The stripper is oval-shaped in side view and is constructed of identical halves which each include a pair of spaced apart, parallel side walls that have marginal portions defined by rims which have a thickness greater than that of the side walls. An intermediate, concave wall extends between and is joined to the bases of the rims, which have a height measured from the respective base that is approximately twice the thickness of the associated side walls.

A large round baler includes a crop pick-up assembly which is wider than the baling chamber and equipped with right- and left-hand stub augers for centering the crop for delivery through the inlet of the baling chamber. In order to prevent the augers from compressing crop against crop feeding tines located between the inner ends of the stub augers, crop lifters are mounted to inner end portions of each of the stub augers. The stub augers are each double flight augers with the flights being offset 180&deg; from each other. The crop lifters each include first and second lifter plates respectively associated with the first and second flights, the lifter plates each having a first end fixed to the auger core and being curved outwardly from the core to the outer periphery of the associated flight.

A large round baler includes a crop feed arrangement for taking up crop deposited on the ground and for delivering it to the inlet of the baling chamber of the baler. The baling chamber has a width less than that of a pick-up forming a forward portion of the crop feed arrangement and the arrangement includes a pair of augers respectively mounted at its opposite sides for narrowing the flow of crop to a width matching that of the baling chamber. These augers are mounted on a shaft also used for supporting a plurality of dogs, of a rotary crop conveying apparatus, in laterally spaced relationship to each other along the shaft. The shaft is located below the conveying surface of the crop feed arrangement. The dogs are in the form of diametrically opposite pairs of tines which sweep the crop in an overshot fashion to move the crop towards the baling chamber inlet. A crop hold down is vertically pivotally mounted in the vicinity of each of the augers and is downwardly biased so as to aid the positive engagement of crop with the augers thereby resulting in a continuous, even inward flow of crop.
