Knitting machine having two needle beds in which loop-forming knitting needles are mounted for extension and retraction, having disk cams disposed on a revolving drive shaft with an angular offset for the purpose of lifting the knitting needles, and having a patterning apparatus for engaging and disengaging the knitting needles and the cams according to the pattern, such that only engaged knitting needles can be raised by the disk cams, a transfer device being provided, which is intended for the transfer of loops formed on knitting needles of at least one needle bed to associated knitting needles of the other needle bed. This transfer device can control the coupling produced by means of the patterning apparatus between the disk cams and the knitting needles such that the knitting needles can be extended selectively by the disk cams into a knit position or into a transfer position (FIG. 1).

Knitting machine

Knitting machine with at least one needle bed in which knitting tools exhibiting feet are mounted for camming up and camming down, with at least one cam transportable past the feet and influencing the latter, which exhibits at least one cam-down part mounted movably but lockably and unlockably and adjustable as to its cam-down depth, and with a switching apparatus arranged outside the needle bed which exhibits means for unlocking, means for adjusting and means for locking the cam-down part, while the means for adjusting the cam-down depth exhibit an adjustable guide rail intended to slide the cam-down part and a switching device to adjust the guide rail according to pattern before the cam-down part rides up (FIGS. 1 and 6).

Knitting machine with a needle bed in which knitting tools having projections are mounted for raising and lowering, with a cam unit which can be transported past the projections and which has at least one lowering cam acting on the projections of the knitting tools which is adjustable with regard to its lowering depth, on which a runner is movably fastened having a plurality of pathways interacting according to pattern with the runner during the carrying of the cam unit past the projections of the knitting tools for the adjustment of the lowering cam to a preselected lowering depth, and with a controller acting before each passage of the cam unit past the feet of the knitting tools for the shifting of the runner to the position required for the interaction with a selected pathway (FIG. 7).

Knitting machine for performing knits having a beginning and an end, which has at least one needle bed in which knitting needles are mounted for extension and retraction, which has a plurality of thread carriers running successively along an endless path and having at least one thread inserter and one thread gripper, the thread carriers being transportable through a working section and through a return section for the return transport of the threads from the end of the knit to the beginning of the knit for the insertion of threads into select needles, and having furthermore at least one thread clipper for severing the threads after they have been worked by the last active needle each time and after they have been gripped in the corresponding thread gripper, and having a control apparatus suitable for varying the knit width for the opening or closing of the thread grippers for the purpose of the release or of the gripping of the thread ends produced by the clipping device and carried by the thread carriers in their return travel, the associated inserters and thread grippers being spaced from one another in a direction different from the transport direction of the thread carriers at least immediately prior to the insertion of the corresponding threads into the first selected needles, such that the thread portions disposed between them are each caught by the first extended needles in the direction of transport and are brought into the position required for the next-following selected needles (FIG. 2).

Thread guidance system

The clamping means, which has a clamping position and an open position for material in thread, ribbon or strip form, has an element which, in accordance with the invention, is resiliently bent double hairpin-wise in a first plane and has two arms of substantially equal length, the end of the first arm being bent double to a U shape in a second plane such that the gap between the two limbs of the U formed by this bend is smaller than the cross section of the portion of the free end of the second arm which cooperates with it, and the ends of the two arms being offset from one another parallel to the second plane such that, in the closed position, the free end of the second arm engages both limbs of the U in the area of the gap.

Clamping means for material in thread, ribbon or strip form

Apparatus for feeding a plurality of yarn, sliver or fibrous materials to a textile machine, comprising: a plurality of stationary supply packages on which said materials are wound; a stationary endless track having at least a working and a return section; and a plurality of feeding elements. Every feeding element is associated with one of said supply packages, wherein said feeding elements are arranged to run around said track in series in such a manner, that the distances between the feeding elements and the associated ones of said supply packages become gradually and alternately smaller and larger during successive runs of said feeding elements on said track. Said materials are held by said feeding elements when the relevant feeding elements pass through said return section, and are releasable for processing by said textile machine when the relevant feeding elements pass through said working section. A plurality of automatically operating and stationary storage devices are arranged in the path between the said feeding elements and the associated supply packages for the intermediate storage of all quantities of the materials which may result from a reduction of the distance between a feeding element and the associated supply package, and for the delivery of said stored quantities, if said distances again become gradually larger.

Apparatus for feeding yarn, sliver or fibrous materials wound on stationary supply packages to a texile machine, comprising a plurality of movable material transporting elements and a plurality of movable material laying-in elements for feeding the materials from the supply packages to the textile machine, endless tracks defining working and return sections for said transporting elements and working and return regions for said laying-in elements, said transporting elements and said laying-in elements running in series on said endless tracks, and entwining of the materials during successive runs of said elements on said tracks is avoided by at least one deflection element by means of which the materials are fed via said transporting elements to said laying-in elements, during successive runs thereof through the working region, alternately from one and another side of a surface laid through the working region of said laying-in elements and the return section of said transporting elements.
