Various embodiments include a method for analyzing an electrode layer for a battery storage device in an electrode layer production facility. The method may include: acquiring an image comprising two pixels of the electrode layer, wherein a first pixel represents a first location of the electrode layer and a second pixel represents a second location of the electrode layer, wherein the first location and the second location are disposed adjacent to each other; determining a first value for a material property of the electrode layer at the first location based on the first pixel; determining a second value for the material property of the electrode layer at the second location based on the second pixel; comparing the first value and the second value and determining a comparison value; and determining characteristic properties of the electrode layer based on the comparison value.

Method and apparatus for industrial scale production of a suspension for a battery, wherein an input material is processed via ball milling in a rotating chamber of a device that is effected as a continuous process with a continuously controlled addition of the input material and with a continuously controlled delivery of the processed output material, where state parameters of the input material and process parameters of the manufacturing installation are acquired as first parameters during production of the suspension, results of laboratory analyses about the state or quality of the manufactured suspension are acquired as second parameters in a learning phase during production, the first and the second parameters are used in the learning phase for training a model for predicting the state or quality via machine learning, and where the device is open-loop or closed-loop controlled outside the learning phase via the first parameters and the trained model.

Method and arrangement for industrial scale production of a suspension for a battery

Various embodiments include a method for ascertaining the residual value of a used battery. The method may include: feeding the battery to a test station; bringing it to a test temperature; stabilizing the temperature within less than 2 K; measuring a load cycles using a high-precision coulometry apparatus; carrying out measurement until fulfilment of a termination criterion; ascertaining a first and a second value for a discharging capacity using two different calculation rules, wherein calibration is handled differently in the two calculation rules; carrying out an optimization process; determining a residual value of the battery; and determining whether the used battery is to be employed for use in a static energy storage device.

Method, apparatus, and computer program product for determining a residual value of battery storage devices

Various embodiments include a method for producing a quality test system executing a quality test model with a filter mask and a quality model to determine a quality feature of a battery cell. The system has an electrochemical impedance spectroscopic unit for capturing test data relating to the battery within a frequency range. The method includes: creating the model; and producing the system. Creating the model includes: capturing spectroscopic learning data; creating the filter mask using a first machine learning method with analysis data from part of the frequency range by consulting the filter mask and creating the model using a second machine learning method. The first and the second learning method are coupled based on the learning data. The first machine learning method creates a filter mask determining the analysis data such that the second machine learning method creates a quality model optimized with respect to maximizing the quality.

Production of a quality test system

Various embodiments may include a method of electrochemical production of synthesis gas comprising: reducing carbon dioxide to a first product gas including carbon monoxide in a carbon dioxide electrolysis cell; splitting water to generate a second product gas including hydrogen in a water electrolysis cell; delivering at least one catholyte from the group consisting of: a first catholyte from the carbon dioxide electrolysis cell and a second catholyte from the water electrolysis cell, into a gas scrubbing apparatus; and removing non-reduced carbon dioxide from the first product gas in the gas scrubbing apparatus using the at least one catholyte as an absorbent.

Various embodiments may include a reactor comprising: a reaction chamber having a lower region defining a sorbent collection zone; a first feed device supplying reactants to the reaction chamber; a second feed device supplying a liquid sorbent to the reaction chamber; a discharge device connected to the sorbent collection zone for removing sorbent from the sorbent collection zone; and a cooling device for cooling the sorbent in the reaction chamber.

The present disclosure relates to converting equilibrium-limited reactions. Various embodiments may include methods and apparatus for such reactions, such as a method for converting equilibrium-limited reactions comprising: delivering a catalyst material to a reaction zone of a reactor; delivering starting materials into the reaction zone; reacting the materials to form a product; introducing a sorbent into the reactor; taking up the products with the sorbent; and collecting the sorbent once it is loaded with products in a collection zone of the reactor. In some embodiment, the reaction zone is separated from the collection zone in the reactor.

Converting equilibrium-limited reactions

The present disclosure relates to chemical synthesis. The teachings thereof may be embodied in methods for chemical synthesis and/or reactors for synthesis. The teaching may increase the conversion of equilibrium-limited reactions in a single pass through a synthesis reactor. For example, a method may include: introducing a synthesis reactant into a reaction chamber with a prevailing pressure p1; forming a synthesis product; discharging the product and any unreacted reactant; separating the product from the unreacted reactant; and introducing the unreacted reactant into a second reaction chamber with a prevailing pressure p2 lower than the pressure p1.

Various embodiments include a reactor for implementation of equilibrium-limited reactions comprising: a reaction space; a reactant feed; an outlet for reaction products; a device for accommodating catalyst material; and a stirrer device comprising: a hollow shaft with a gas inlet opening at one end of the hollow shaft; a first stirrer paddle with gas exit orifices mounted on the hollow shaft; and a second stirrer paddle mounted on the hollow shaft proximate the device for accommodating the catalyst material.

Reactor and method for equilibrium-limited reactions

A method recovers an electropositive metal from a metal carbonate. In the method, hydrogen and halogen are combusted to form hydrogen halide. The solid metal carbonate is converted into metal chloride by a gaseous hydrogen halide. In an electrolysis, the metal chloride is decomposed into metal and halogen. The halogen produced in the electrolysis is led out of the electrolysis for combusting. Preferably, the hydrogen halide is produced by combusting the hydrogen and the halogen and the metal carbonate is converted into metal chloride in a fluidized bed reactor. Preferably, lithium is used as the metal.

An apparatus for carrying out a carbon monoxide shift reaction, which includes converting carbon monoxide and water into carbon dioxide and hydrogen, the converting proceeding in a liquid phase with removal of a product gas including carbon dioxide and hydrogen, is provided. The apparatus includes dry methanol, as a first solvent in a first region for an absorption of carbon monoxide with simultaneous formation of methyl formate, and water, as a second solvent in a second region for a liberation of the product gas in order to avoid losses of hydrogen in a carbon dioxide region.

Apparatus for converting carbon monoxide and water into carbon dioxide and hydrogen with the removal of at least one product gas

A method reduces carbon dioxide resulting from a steel production process. The carbon dioxide is reacted with an electropositive metal in combustion to produce carbon monoxide. The resultant carbon monoxide is fed back into the steel production process. In this method, the carbon monoxide can be used in a direct reduction method as a reduction gas or can be fed to a blast furnace process. The reacted metal can also be recovered by electrochemical conversion from its oxides or salts. In particular, a form of regenerative energy can be used to recycle the electropositive metal.

Carbon dioxide reduction in steelworks

A method and apparatus convert carbon dioxide into chemical starting materials. Carbon dioxide is isolated from flue gas emitted by a combustion system. An electropositive metal is burned in an atmosphere of isolated carbon dioxide to reduce the carbon dioxide into chemical starting materials.
