An operations management system and related method obtains user activity information representing user interactions with the operations management system responsive to an incident, the incident belonging to a category of incidents. The method represents the user activity information as an itemset. The method further processes the itemset with a mining algorithm to identify one or more items of information frequently accessed for the incident. The method yet further associates the identified one or more items of information with the category of incidents.

A method, system, and/or computer program product modifies a viewing controller widget. A computer system receives an area defining user input that defines an area of a graphical user interface, where the area defining user input draws a geometric shape on the graphical user interface in order to define the area of the graphical user interface; captures an event management user input within the geometric shape on the graphical user interface; displays an event management viewer on the graphical user interface, where the event management viewer presents past user events that modified features of the viewing controller widget; receives a user selection of a previous event from the event management viewer; and modifies one or more features of the viewing controller widget based on the user selection of the previous event from the event management viewer.

A method, system, and/or computer program product operate a computer system having a display device that displays a user interface, wherein a processor is connected to the display device. A graphical user interface is displayed on the display device. A user input, defining an area of the graphical user interface, is received. A graphical user interface action in a defined area of the graphical user interface is determined. An event, which is generated in response to determining the graphical user interface action, is stored in an event log. A user selection of an event stored in the event log is received. Configuration options are then provided for a user selected event from the event log.

A method for the cognitive debugging of a managed system includes first receiving an event in an event management system. Thereafter, a context for the event is extracted therefrom and the context is mapped to both one or more components of a managed computing system and also one or more corresponding debug mode commands for each of the components. Consequently, a debug mode is enabled in each of the components and the corresponding debug mode commands are issued for each of the components so as to provoke a generation of one or more log entries. The generated log entries then are matched to a pre-stored log entry amongst a multiplicity of pre-stored log entries and at least one problem resolution document stored in connection with the matched pre-stored log entry is transmitted to an operator of the event management system.

Cognitive platform for troubleshooting system events

A method for testing configuration of environments is provided. A probe for connection to a network and/or devices interacts to launch a configuration analyzer tool. The configuration analyzer tool includes a test mechanism for running a set of tests for the probe relating to connectivity and configuration of attached networks and devices before connection and suggesting solutions to test results. The tests may be externalized and dynamically loaded at run time of the configuration analyzer tool.
