A method for controlling, by a user equipment (UE), PDCP aggregation in a dual connectivity mode includes receiving a first Uplink (UL) data threshold value from a network; monitoring a throughput of a UL data of the UE and occurrence of at least one UL channel condition, wherein the at least one UL channel condition includes at least one of a network condition and a UE condition; determining whether to perform a calculation of a second UL data threshold value based on the occurrence of the at least one UL channel condition; calculating the second UL data threshold value based on a plurality of network parameters and a plurality of UE parameters, based on determining to perform the calculation of the second UL data threshold value; comparing an amount of the UL data with the second UL data threshold value; and controlling PCDP aggregation based on a result of the comparison.

Method and user equipment for controlling PDCP aggregation

The disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). A method for handling handover by a UE () is provided. The method includes determining, by User Equipment (UE), whether a measurement identity (ID) of a first neighboring cell and a measurement ID of a second neighboring cell are same. In an example embodiment, a method of optimizing service delivery performed by a UE operating in EN-DC mode is disclosed. The method comprises detecting that a network service is ongoing at the UE using a first radio access technology (RAT), based on an application request sent by the UE to a network, wherein the first RAT is one of long-term evolution (LTE) and NR. The method further comprises detecting, during the ongoing network service being availed using the first RAT, a frequency of one or more NR network procedures being performed by the UE to be greater than a first threshold frequency. In an embodiment, a method, implemented in a User Equipment (UE) operating in Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN) New Radio-Dual Connectivity (EN-DC), of adding a New Radio (NR) Secondary Node (SN) in EN-DC is disclosed.
