A portable device includes a case configuring the body of the portable device and a fuel cell system included in the case and having air inlets formed in the surface of the case, and also has a solar cell disposed on a portion on the surface of the case, in which the air inlets are provided. The solar cell has holes corresponding to the air inlets.

Portable device

A contactless power transferring coil unit is provided. The contactless power transferring coil unit includes a flat coil, a magnetic film, and a leaking flux detecting coil. The flat coil is formed by winding a conductive wire into a spiral on a substantially flat plane. The magnetic film is disposed so as to cover one entire flat surface of the flat coil. The leaking flux detecting coil is disposed in a periphery outside an outer edge of the flat coil and the magnetic film and detects leaking magnetic flux from the flat coil.

Contactless power transferring coil unit, mobile terminal, power transmitting apparatus, and contactless power transferring system

A power reception device utilizing non-contact power transmission causes a PMOS transistor as a switch circuit to be turned ON when a secondary battery is in a heavy-load state to form a path which bypasses a series regulator (LDO) as a power supply circuit, and supplies a charging current to the secondary battery through the bypass path. An offset may be provided between ON/OFF control threshold values of the PMOS transistor. The series regulator (LDO) may be entirely or partially set in a non-operating state when forming the bypass path.

Power reception control device, power reception device, and electronic instrument

A power reception device transmits authentication information (e.g., start code, manufacturer ID, product ID, rated power information, and resonance characteristic information) to a power transmission device before starting normal power transmission by a non-contact power transmission system. The power transmission device performs instrument authentication based on the received authentication information, and regulates the maximum transmission power is regulated to conform to a power-reception-device side rated power. The power transmission device then performs normal power transmission.

A noncontact charging device includes a mounting portion, a primary transmission coil, a temperature-detecting element, and a control unit. A device charged in a noncontact manner is mounted on the mounting portion. The primary transmission coil supplies power to a secondary transmission coil provided to the device by the use of electromagnetic induction. The temperature-detecting element detects a temperature of a material mounted on the mounting portion. The control unit is configured to supply power to the primary transmission coil and terminate the power supply to the primary transmission coil when a predetermined temperature is detected by the temperature-detecting element. The temperature-detecting element is located on a side of a contact surface between the mounting portion and the primary transmission coil, and the center of the temperature-detecting element is located within a range of the diameter of the primary transmission coil from the center position of the primary transmission coil.

Noncontact charging device with temperature detection

A noncontact power-transmission coil is provided. The noncontact power-transmission coil includes a planar coil and a magnetic layer. The planar coil is formed by winding a linear conductor in a spiral shape substantially in a single plane. The magnetic layer is formed by applying a liquid-form magnetic solution in which magnetic particles are mixed with a binder solvent, so as to cover one planar portion of the planar coil and a side-face portion of the planar coil.

Noncontact power-transmission coil, portable terminal and terminal charging device, planar coil magnetic layer formation device, and magnetic layer formation method

A power-receiving-side control circuit of a power reception device performs intermittent load modulation by causing an NMOS transistor to be turned ON/OFF during normal power transmission. A power-transmission-side control circuit included in a power transmission control device of a power transmission device monitors, an intermittent change in the load of the power reception device during normal power transmission. The power-transmission-side control circuit determines that a foreign object has been inserted between a primary coil and a secondary coil and stops power transmission when an intermittent change in load cannot be detected. The amount of power supplied to the load may be compulsorily reduced when the load state of the load is heavy.

Power reception control device, power transmission control device, non-contact power transmission system, power reception device, power transmission device, and electronic instrument

A power transmission device performs power-saving power transmission that transmits a small amount of power as compared with normal power transmission when the power transmission device has detected that a battery of a load has been fully charged so that the operation of a charge control device (charge control IC) of the load is maintained, thereby enabling recharging due to a charge management function of the charge control device. Since the load state of a power reception device increases when recharging has started, the power transmission device detects an increase in the load state and changes power transmission from power-saving power transmission to normal power transmission. When the power reception device has been removed during power-saving power transmission, the power transmission device detects that the power reception device has been removed, and stops continuous power transmission so that unnecessary power consumption does not occur.

An electronic device having at least a loop-shaped electric conductor generating electric power by electromagnetic induction is provided. The electronic device includes a voltage-detecting unit, a voltage-comparing unit and a separating unit. The voltage-detecting unit is configured to detect a voltage generated in the electric conductor by the electromagnetic induction. The voltage-comparing unit is configured to make a comparison between the voltage detected by the voltage-detecting unit and a predetermined reference voltage and determining whether the voltage detected by the voltage-detecting unit exceeds the predetermined reference voltage. The separating unit is configured to break an electric connection between the electronic conductor and an electronic circuit connecting to the electric conductor when the voltage-comparing unit determines that the voltage detected by the voltage-detecting unit exceeds the predetermined reference voltage.

Electronic device

A charger and an electronic instrument include a planar air-core coil, a magnetic sheet disposed on a side of the planar air-core coil that is opposite to a transmission side, and a housing disposed at a position that faces the transmission side of the planar air-core coil. The housing includes a positioning protrusion that is formed on an inner surface of the housing and positions the planar air-core coil, and a positioning protrusion or a positioning depression formed by an outer surface.

Charger, electronic instrument, and charging system

A coil module apparatus is provided. The coil module apparatus includes a flat coil, a circuit board, a magnetic sheet, connection terminals, and a case. The flat coil has a flat shape. The circuit board is used for the flat coil. The magnetic sheet is provided so as to cover one surface portion of the flat coil. The connection terminals are provided for connecting the flat coil and the circuit board. The case encloses the flat coil, the circuit board, and the magnetic sheet and encloses the connection terminals so that the connection terminals are partly exposed.

Coil module apparatus

A contactless power transferring apparatus includes a terminal loading portion, a primary coil, an up-down-direction pressing portion, a width direction pressing portion and a thickness direction pressing portion. The terminal loading portion has an opening through which a mobile terminal is inserted and loaded. The primary coil transfers power using electromagnetic induction to a secondary coil incorporated in the mobile terminal. When the mobile terminal is inserted inside the terminal loading portion, the pressing portions operate in an up-down direction, in a left-right direction and in a width direction, to press and support the mobile terminal respectively from below to position the coils in the up-down direction, from the width direction to position the coils in the left-right direction and from the thickness direction to dispose the coils a predetermined distance apart.

Contactless power transferring apparatus

A recording apparatus having a housing, a paper cassette insertable into the housing to a loaded position at which paper sheets may be advanced from the cassette to a paper feed path in the housing, the cassette being removable from the housing. A sheet handling device is supported by the housing to be located in the paper feed path downstream from the loaded position of the cassette. The sheet handling device includes a rotatable feed component, a pressing component to retain a sheet of paper against the feed component, and a movable holder to support the pressing component for movement between an active position against the feed component and a retracted position spaced from the feed component. Cooperating components on the paper cassette and the holder move the holder to locate and retain the pressing component in the active position upon insertion of the cassette to the loaded position and move the pressing component to the retracted position upon removal of the cassette from the housing.
