In an HUD device () mounted on a helmet (), a projection unit () configured to project display light to a combiner () includes a light emitter () configured to emit display light, a housing () having a projection opening () through which display light emitted from the light emitter passes, and a cover member () having transparency to light and disposed to cover the projection opening. The projection unit () is incorporated in a chin portion () of the helmet body such that display light to be projected to the combiner passes through an optical path portion () provided in a mouse cover () of the helmet body (). The cover member is disposed at an inner side of an interior member than a surface of the interior member at which an end of the optical path portion at a light emission side is open.

Head up display device and helmet

When the distance indicated by distance information received by a Bluetooth module () is less than a predetermined first reference distance (KY), a guidance image () including a distance image () and a direction image () is generated, and this guidance image () is displayed on a combiner () of a helmet (). By stopping the display of the distance image () of the guidance image () and continuing to display the direction image () from when the distance indicated by the distance information becomes less than a second reference distance (KY) shorter than the first reference distance (KY) to when the guidance point is reached, the driver's attention is focused on the direction image (), so that a mistake in the direction of travel at the guidance point can be prevented.

Display light emitting device

If a distance from a current position to a guide point is less than a predetermined distance, a normal output process and a stop process of a guide image are repeatedly performed. If a priority display request for a guide image is performed, a priority output process of the guide image is performed prior to the stop process. If an interval between the priority output process and the normal output process performed after the priority output process is short, the priority output process continues until the normal output process starts.
