A disk device according to an embodiment includes head gimbal assemblies, a ramp, and magnetic disks. The ramp has a wall and protrusions arranged in an axial direction with a gap. Each of the protrusions includes a first surface facing the gap, a second surface located opposite to the first surface, a side surface, and a limiter protruding from the side surface. Each of the first surface and the second surface includes a first inclined region, a first flat region, and a first middle region located between the first inclined region and the first flat region. The limiter is located between two first flat regions. A width between two first middle regions is less than or equal to a width between the two first flat regions and is at least partially shorter than the width between the two first flat regions.

According to one embodiment, a disk device includes two magnetic disks opposing each other at intervals of 1.2 to 1.5 mm, and at least two suspension assemblies movable respectively between the two magnetic disks. Each of the suspension assemblies includes a base plate, a load beam extending from the base plate, a tab extending from a distal end of the load beam, a wiring member on the load beam and the base plate, including a gimbal portion, and a magnetic head on the gimbal portion, abutting on a dimple of the load beam via the gimbal portion. The ratio of a distance from a bendable location of the load beam to a center of the dimple with respect to a distance from the center of the dimple to a tip of the tab is 2.8 to 3.8.

Disk device

According to one embodiment, a disk device includes a housing with a bottom wall, magnetic disks supported on a hub of a motor, a printed circuit board provided on an outer surface of the bottom wall, and a wiring board attached on the outer surface of the bottom wall. The bottom wall includes a recess formed in the outer surface, a step located on border between the outer surface and the recess, and through holes opened to the recess. The wiring board includes one end portion disposed in the recess and connection pads on the one end portion, connected to lead wires of a coil. An adhesive is filled into the recess and the through holes, and covers the one end and a solder joint and seals the through holes.

According to one embodiment, a disk clamp includes a disk-shaped main body including a central axis line, an annular mounting groove provided in a first surface of the main body, in which a wire for unbalance adjustment is mountable, a plurality of through-holes formed through the main body and spaced apart from each other equally in a circumferential direction around the central axis line, through each of which a fixing screw is insertable, and a plurality of female threaded holes formed on the first surface of the main body and spaced apart from each other equally in the circumferential direction, through each of which an adjustment screw for balancing adjustment is screwable.

According to one embodiment, a disk device includes a plurality of magnetic disks, a casing, a column, a rotary component, and a screw. The casing includes a base having an inner space in which the plurality of magnetic disks is accommodated, and a first cover attached to the base to close the space. The column with a screw hole, is located in the space and is attached to the base by being fitted into a recess formed in the base. The rotary component is located in the space, surrounds the column, and is configured to rotate about the column. The screw is fitted into the screw hole through the first cover.

According to one embodiment, a disk device includes a housing including a base with a bottom wall, a drive motor including a pivot erected on the bottom wall and a hub rotatably supported around the pivot, ten or more magnetic disks attached to the hub and stacked on a flange of the hub, and spacer rings attached to the hub and each disposed between each respective adjacent pair of two magnetic disks. A number of the spacer rings is one less than the magnetic disks. At least one spacer ring has a thickness different from that of the other spacer rings, and a difference between a maximum thickness and a minimum thickness of the spacer rings is 0.01 mm or more and 0.09 mm or less.

According to one embodiment, a disk device comprises a plurality of rotatable magnetic disks, a first actuator assembly, and a second actuator assembly. A slit provided in each of arms of the first actuator assembly is provided to be offset in a direction spaced away from a border plane between actuator assemblies with respect to a center of the arm in its thickness direction. A connection end portion of a wiring member is partially located in the slit, such as to be offset in a direction spaced away from the border plane, and disposed on a wiring board, and joined to the wiring board.

A disk apparatus includes a base including a bottom wall, a sidewall provided along a peripheral portion of the bottom wall, and a plurality of corner portions, a painted surface formed on at least an inner surface of the base, a plate-like cover attached to the base, the cover including an edge surface and a plurality of corner portions facing an inner surface of the base, and a rotatable recording medium disposed between the base and the cover. The sidewall of the base includes a plurality of protruding portions that are each disposed at a position corresponding to one of the corner portions of the cover and includes a contact surface configured to contact the edge surface of the cover.
