A compressor includes a rotary shaft, a cam, a cylinder block, pistons, a thrust bearing, a rotary valve, and an oil passage. The rotary shaft has an in-shaft passage formed therein. The cam rotates integrally with the rotary shaft. The pistons are coupled to the rotary shaft through the cam. The thrust bearing is provided between the cam and the cylinder block. The thrust bearing includes a first race in contact with the cam, a second race in contact with the cylinder block, and rolling elements retained between the first and second races to form a gap therebetween. The oil passage extends from the gap to the in-shaft passage and includes an oil retaining space formed in at least one of the cam and the cylinder block.

The present invention provides a refrigerating machine oil composition for use in a compressor for a refrigerator in which a sliding surface of at least a part of constitutional members of the compressor is coated with a lubrication film-forming composition containing a resin having a heat distortion temperature of 100&#xb0; C. or higher as a binder, and a solid lubricant, wherein the refrigerating machine oil composition contains a base oil made of a polyoxyalkylene glycol having a kinematic viscosity of from 3 to 50 mm/s as measured at 100&#xb0; C., and a compound selected from the group consisting of amide compounds, amidated amino acid compounds and aliphatic amines having a specific structural formula which compound is contained in an amount of from 0.01 to 1% by mass on the basis of a total amount of the refrigerating machine oil composition, the refrigerating machine oil composition being capable of ensuring a good lubrication of sliding portions of the compressor upon starting operation of the compressor and during the operation; a compressor using the refrigerating machine oil composition; and a refrigerating apparatus including the compressor.

A compressor includes a rotary shaft, a cam, a cylinder block, pistons, a thrust bearing, a rotary valve, and an oil passage. The rotary shaft has an in-shaft passage formed therein. The in-shaft passage has an outlet open to the outer peripheral surface of the rotary shaft. The cam rotates integrally with the rotary shaft. The pistons are coupled to the rotary shaft through the cam. The thrust bearing is provided between the cam and the cylinder block. The thrust bearing includes a first race in contact with the cam, a second race in contact with the cylinder block, and rolling elements retained between the first and second races to form a gap therebetween. The oil passage is formed in the outer peripheral surface of the rotary shaft so as to extend from the gap to the outlet of the in-shaft passage.

A double-headed piston type compressor includes front and rear housings, a cylinder block defining therein a crank chamber and a plurality of cylinder bores and having a shaft hole therethrough, a double-headed piston accommodated in the cylinder bores for reciprocating therein, a rotary shaft rotatably supported by the shaft hole, compression chambers defined by the cylinder bores, a suction chamber defined by the front housing and an introduction passage having a rotary valve for introducing refrigerant from the suction chamber into the compression chambers. The introduction passage includes a communication passage formed in the cylinder block for connecting the suction chamber to the shaft hole, suction passages connecting the shaft hole and the compression chambers and a recessed passage formed in the outer circumferential surface of the rotary shaft for connecting intermittently between the communication passage and the respective suction passages in accordance with the rotation of the rotary shaft.

Double-headed piston type compressor

A double-headed piston type compressor connected with an external device is provided. The compressor includes a plurality of cylinder bore pairs, double-headed pistons, a first rotary valve, a second rotary valve, first suction passages, and second suction passages. In each cylinder bore pair, a first time period from a first top dead center timing, which is timing when the double-headed piston reaches a top dead center in a first compression chamber, to a first communication start timing, which is timing when a first introduction passage starts to communicate with a first suction passage, is different from a second time period from a second top dead center timing, which is timing when the double-headed piston reaches a top dead center in a second compression chamber, to a second communication start timing, which is timing when the second introduction passage starts to communicate with a second suction passages.

A swash plate compressor includes a housing that has a cylinder bore and rotatably supports a drive shaft. A swash plate is operatively coupled to the drive shaft for rotation therewith. A piston is accommodated in the cylinder bore for reciprocating movement. First and second spaced shoes are fitted to the piston on a side adjacent to the cylinder bore and on a side away from the cylinder bore, respectively, for coupling the piston to the swash plate. The rolling body is mounted on the swash plate through a bearing and in slide contact with the first shoe. A surface of the rolling body in slide contact with the first shoe or a surface of the first shoe in slide contact with the rolling body has a diamond-like carbon film. A surface of the rolling body in rolling contact with the bearing exposes a base material of the rolling body.

Pressure vessel, compressor and process for casting cylinder block

A sliding film includes a solid lubricant, a binder resin, and a low-melting-point material. The binder resin is for holding the solid lubricant on a surface of a substrate, and exhibits a glass transition temperature. The low-melting-point material exhibits a melting point lower than the glass transition temperature of the binder resin. The low-melting-point material demonstrates a latent heat which can absorb frictional heat generated between sliding members, and accordingly retards the degradation of the binder resin. As a result, the sliding film produces high seizure resistance.

A compressor has a swash plate and shoes. Surfaces of the swash plate slides on flat surfaces of the shoes. A sliding film is formed on each of the swash plate surfaces. The sliding films are formed of a polyamide-imide resin that contains at least solid lubricant. The polyamide-amide resin has a glass transition temperature of 270&#xb0; C., a tensile strength at room temperature of 200 MPa, or more imide groups than amide groups. When a base portion of the swash plate is made of an aluminum-based metal, the sliding films are formed on the base portion with middle layers made of anodized aluminum in between.

Compressor

Lubricating films are formed on end surfaces of a swash plate, respectively. The lubricating films make slide contact with shoes, respectively. The lubricating films are composed of a copper based material containing no lead, and solid lubricant other than lead is contained the copper based material. A good slide contact characteristic may be obtained while using no lead.

Component having slide contact area of compressor

A compressor includes pistons, each of which is coupled to a swash plate through a pair of shoes. The swash plate rotates integrally with a drive shaft. The shoes convert the rotation of the swash plate to the reciprocation of the piston. A lubricating coating made of copper-based material is formed on parts of the swash plate along which the shoes slide. The copper-based material includes silicon. The shoes smoothly slide on the swash plate, which is coated by the lubricating coating that uses minimum amount of lead.

A swash plate type variable displacement compressor has a housing, a drive shaft, a swash plate and a piston. The housing includes a cylinder block, a front housing, and a rear housing. The drive shaft is rotatably supported by the housing. The swash plate is connected to the drive shaft, and is integrally rotatable with the drive shaft and tiltable relative to the drive shaft. The piston engages with the swash plate through a pair of shoes. Rotation of the drive shaft is converted to reciprocation of the piston through the swash plate and the shoes, and the displacement of the compressor is adjusted by varying the inclination angle of the swash plate with respect to the axis of the drive shaft. The swash plate includes a base member made of copper series and a sliding layer coating a sliding surface of the base member with respect to the shoes.
