The bumper mounting structure includes a front side memberand a bumper reinforcing member. In assembly, the tip end of the front side memberis connected with the bumper reinforcing member. The tip end of the memberis opened and provided with a slant part, forming a weakened part in the member. When an impact load causes the bumper reinforcing memberto be deformed, the deformation of the front side memberis induced at its opened end because of its weakened structure. Consequently, it is possible to carry out the effective absorption of impact energy without elevating a reaction force abruptly.

Bumper mounting structure for vehicle

A compact vehicle production line. The production line comprises a floor process of assembling floor constituent parts. Each is an aluminum alloy extrusion die cast product, which has been made, in an extrusion die casting process, by forcing molten aluminum alloy through a mold cavity in a predetermined direction. The assembled floor constituent parts are welded to make a floor structure. In an interior parts mount process, interior parts are to the floor structure to make a floor unit. In a body main process, each of two body side structures are trimmed to make a body side unit. A roof structure is trimmed to make a roof unit. The floor unit, the body side units, and the roof unit are assembled. The assembly is welded to make a body unit. In a running parts mount process, an under running unit is mounted to the body unit. In an exterior parts attachment process, color body panels are attached to the body unit.

Production of vehicles

A vehicle including a cabin and a centerline extending in forward and rearward directions and a transverse line intersecting the centerline. The vehicle includes a cross member extending in a first direction parallel to the transverse line. The vehicle also has an extruded floor that is connected to the cross member. The floor and the dash cross member partially define the cabin. The floor extends in a second direction, which is parallel to the centerline. The floor also has first and second side sills that are spaced from each other in the first direction and that extend in the second direction. Forward ends of the first and second side sills contact the cross member. At least one load-transmitting member is disposed between the cross member and the floor. Each one load-transmitting member applies an impact load from the cross member to the floor at a substantially right angle to the floor.

Vehicle structure with load transmission elements

A compact vehicle production line is disclosed. The production line comprises a floor process of assembling floor constituent parts. Each is an aluminum alloy extrusion die cast product, which has been made, in an extrusion die casting process, by forcing molten aluminum alloy through a mold cavity in a predetermined direction. The assembled floor constituent parts are welded to make a floor structure. In an interior parts mount process, interior parts are to the floor structure to make a floor unit. In a body main process, each of two body side structures are trimmed to make a body side unit. A roof structure is trimmed to make a roof unit. The floor unit, the body side units, and the roof unit are assembled. The assembly is welded to make a body unit. In a running parts mount process, an under running unit is mounted to the body unit. In an exterior parts attachment process, color body panels are attached to the body unit.

A vehicle body structure comprise a cross member and a floor. Two parallel side members extend along a longitudinal central line of a vehicle and outwardly from the cross member. The cross member is formed by extrusion in a first direction lying in parallel to a transverse line crossing the longitudinal central line. The floor is formed by extrusion in a second direction lying in parallel to the longitudinal central line. The floor includes a recess recessed inwardly and a floor panel portion that defines at least a portion of the recess defining edge. The cross member has an integral tooth fitted into the recess and connected to said floor along the recess defining edge.

Vehicle body structure

An improvement on a vehicle body is provided which includes bumper brackets joining a bumper reinforcement to ends of side members extending longitudinally of the vehicle body. Each of the bumper brackets has a boss. The boss has formed therein a vertical hole extending vertically of the vehicle body and establishes a connection of the bumper reinforcement and a corresponding one of the side members through a bolt which is fitted within the vertical hole of the boss so as to allow the bumper bracket to rotate inwardly of the vehicle body within a given angular range when the impact acts on the bumper bracket upon occurrence of a font-end collision for ensuring transmission of axial collapsing pressure arising from the impact to the side members.

Automotive bumper mount structure

An intermediate joint is provided which joints two cylindrical members to form a side member used in a vehicle body. The intermediate joint includes a front and a rear connecting portion and an intermediate coupling portion coupling the front and rear connecting portions. The intermediate coupling portion is so formed physically as to have a degree of rigidity greater than those of the front and rear connecting portions. This improves the strength or rigidity of the intermediate joint without increasing the overall weight of the side member.

A vehicle body structure provides an increased engine room collapsing stroke to increase energy absorption during a frontal or rear end collision. Force applied to side members is transmitted efficiently to a floor structure by controlled deformation of first, second and third structural portions of a impact redirecting and impact redirecting structure which interconnects the floor and the side members. Occurrence of bending deformation of the inboard end portions of the side members is attenuated to subject the front side member to collapsible compression which increases the engine room collapsible stroke.

A vehicle body structure is provided to simplify both positioning and temporary fixing in assembling a dash panel,to a reinforcement member,. The vehicle body structure has engagement parts,arranged on both sides of the reinforcement member,in a vehicle width direction, for engagement of the member,with the dash panel,. In process of assembling, the dash panel,is pinched between the engagement parts,through both ends of the panel,in the vehicle width direction.

A microscope system for observing an image of a sample at desired magnifications includes a first objective lens having an objective side surface which is telecentric, a focusing lens, disposed in an optical path along which optical rays emitted from the first objective lens travel, for focusing the optical rays and forming a sample image and a second objective lens having a magnification factor different from that of the first objective lens. An interchanging member holds the first objective lens and the second objective lens and is used for placing one of the first and second objective lenses in an observational optical path between the sample and the focusing lens. The inequality 0.29&lt;D/fI&lt;0.40 is satisfied, assuming D to be a parfocal length which equals a distance between a surface of the sample and an attachment plane of the objective lens and fI to be a focal length of the focusing lens.

Microscope system

In a motor vehicle having an engine mounted in an engine room, an exhaust tube system extending from the engine toward a rear end of the vehicle and a fuel tank positioned near the rear end of the vehicle, there is proposed an improved under body structure of the vehicle, by which the fuel tank is effectively cooled during running of the vehicle. The under body structure comprises an under cover positioned below the engine room. The under cover is formed with a longitudinally extending groove whose opening faces downward to contact a relatively low temperature air. A floor panel is formed with a longitudinally extending tunnel whose opening faces downward. The tunnel receives therein the exhaust tube system without contacting the same. A heat insulating plate extends in and along the tunnel in a manner to define in the tunnel an air flow passage which is insulated from the exhaust tube system. The air flow passage has a rear open end directed toward the fuel tank. A connecting duct is provided for connecting the groove of the under cover with the air flow passage defined in the tunnel of the floor panel.

Under body structure of motor vehicle

In a focusing apparatus, a beam of light from a light beam source is imaged on an object to be inspected through one half of the pupil of an imaging optical system and a reflected beam of light from the object to be inspected passes through the other half of the pupil. The object to be inspected and the imaging optical system are moved relative to each other to effect focusing. A light divider divides the reflected beam of light from the object to be inspected into first and second reflected beams of light which are received by first and second light receiving members, respectively. A light intercepting member intercepts the reflected beam of light from the back of the object to be inspected, which is included in the second reflected beam of light. A controller moves the object to be inspected and the imaging optical system relative to each other on the basis of the outputs of the first and second light receiving members. The controller moves the object to be inspected and the imaging optical system relative to each other on the basis of the output of the first light receiving member, and thereafter moves the object to be inspected and the imaging optical system relative to each other on the basis of the output of the second light receiving member to effect focusing.

Apparatus for focusing on transparent objects

There is disclosed a microscope provided with a parallel ray optical system, for forming parallel light rays, between the objective lens and the eyepiece lens. A lens barrel supporting the parallel ray optical system is axially extended or retracted with respect to the objective lens, such as by mutual engagement of a ratchet and a claw member, thereby varying the optical path length of the parallel light rays and thus adjusting the height of the eyepiece lens.
