In a hermetic motor-driven compressor, a first gas passage is formed by a space between a linear section in a motor stator and a hermetic container, and a second gas passage in parallel with the first gas passage is formed by through holes in the motor stator. The through holes constituting the second gas passage are disposed outside of a circle inscribed in the linear section in the stator. The through hole is shaped like a bow, and an arch shape of the outer periphery thereof has a curvature larger than that of the outer circumference of the stator.

Hermetic motor-driven compressor

A gear pump is used in an electrically-operated sealed compressor. The compressor includes a compression mechanism, an electric motor for driving the compression mechanism, and a crankshaft for transmitting the rotational force of the electric motor to the compression mechanism. The gear pump includes a pair of gears being in mesh with each other, one of which is connected to one end of the crankshaft, and a pump casing accommodating only the pair of gears. The pump casing together with the gear pair is disposed on one side of a cover plate, while other elements constituting the gear pump are disposed on the other side of the cover plate. By this construction, the distance between the gear pair and an auxiliary bearing to which the gear pump is secured can be reduced and, hence, an undesirable whirling of one end portion of the crankshaft can also be reduced.

A scroll compressor has a closed vessel in which a compression mechanism having orbiting and stationary scroll elements in engagement with each other is accommodated. A crankshaft is coupled with the orbiting scroll element and rotatably supported by a crank bearing. The crankshaft is rotated by an electric motor having a stator and a rotor so that the orbiting scroll element may orbit relative to the stationary scroll element. A plurality of balance weights are provided for maintaining static and dynamic balances of rotary elements including the orbiting scroll element, the crankshaft, and the rotor. The static and dynamic balances are calculated using at least a clearance between the crankshaft and the crank bearing.

A hermetic electric scroll compressor includes a fixed scroll and an orbiting scroll which define therebetween a plurality of compression spaces for compressing fluid introduced via a suction port. The orbiting scroll has a base plate and a shaft portion extending from the base plate toward a crankshaft rotatably supported by a support member. A seal member is disposed between the base plate and the support member to define an inner region and an outer region. The shaft portion is exposed to the inner region, while the outer region communicates with the suction port. The shaft portion is formed with an axial hole open to the inner region, while the base plate is formed with a radial hole open to the outer region. Communication is established between the axial and radial holes via a small-diameter hole so that lubricating oil supplied to the inner region is introduced into the outer region via the small-diameter hole for feeding to the compression spaces via the suction port.

An electrically-driven closed scroll compressor has a compression mechanism accommodated in a closed vessel. The compression mechanism includes a bearing member securely mounted in the closed vessel, a stationary scroll having a stationary scroll wrap formed thereon, an orbiting scroll having an orbiting end plate and an orbiting scroll wrap formed on the orbiting end plate so as to engage with the stationary scroll wrap to define a plurality of working pockets therebetween, and an eccentric bearing for allowing the orbiting scroll to undergo an orbiting motion relative to the stationary scroll. A generally ring-shaped sealing member is mounted on the bearing member so as to be held in contact with the orbiting end plate. The sealing member may be mounted on the orbiting end plate. The orbiting end plate has first and second regions defined therein internally and externally of the sealing member, respectively, so that the first and second regions may receive first and second pressures, respectively, both forming a first thrust force. The sealing member has a center positioned so that during the orbiting motion of the orbiting scroll, when a second thrust force applied to the orbiting scroll from the working pockets takes a substantially maximum value, a distance between a central point of application of the first thrust force and a central point of application of the second thrust force takes a substantially minimum value.

The space in a closed container is divided into two parts by a partition wall member, gas jetting holes through which a high pressure gas released from a compression mechanism section is passed are formed in the partition wall member and a gas collision plate is disposed in opposed relation to the gas jetting holes, and therefore, there is provided a compressor of high achievement factor which is capable of preventing the discharge of oil from the compressor to a refrigerating cycle from being increased even if operated at high rotational frequency.

A compressor includes a communication hole 42 through which lubrication oil in an oil reservoir 5 is supplied to a back pressure chamber 39 at least through an eccentrically driving bearing 15, and a communication bore 45 or gap through which the lubrication oil in the back pressure chamber 39 is fed into compression spaces, and a constricted resistance member 44 for regulating the oil flow rate is provided on the communication hole 42. The passage resistance can be made larger in comparison with the case where resistance is caused in a small space of a sliding portion of a bearing, and an accurate value of the passage resistance can be preset with the oil flow rate being low, thereby preventing flow of the lubrication oil to the compression operating spaces from increasing in quantity. Thus, there is provided a highly reliable scroll compressor which has a high compression efficiency, consumes power constantly, and has no risk of compression of the lubrication oil in the compression operating spaces.
