A sound output device includes an acquisition unit, an ear speaker, and a sound controller. The acquisition unit acquires data of an information sound providing an operator with information. The ear speaker outputs the information sound such that sound pressure of the information sound at a position of an ear of the operator is higher than sound pressure at positions other than the position of the ear. The sound controller controls the ear speaker to emphasize the information sound more when the information sound indicates a high degree of necessity for the operator to take action against the information sound than when the information sound indicates a low degree of the necessity.

A voice recognition apparatus includes: a voice input element for inputting voice of an user; a voice pattern memory for storing multiple voice patterns respectively corresponding to multiple phrases; a voice recognition element for calculating a similarity degree between the voice and each voice pattern and determining the highest similarity degree so that one voice pattern corresponding to the highest similarity degree is recognized as the voice; a display for displaying a recognition result corresponding to the one voice pattern; an execution determination element for executing a process according to the one voice pattern when a predetermined operation is input by the user; a load estimation element for estimating a load of the user; and a display controller for controlling the display based on a positive correlation between the load and display repetition of the recognition result on the display.

A voice recognition apparatus recognizes speaker's voice collected by a microphone, determines whether a telephone number is grouped into categories based on an inclusion of vocabulary in the telephone number that divides the telephone number into groups such as an area code, a city code and a subscriber number, and displays the telephone number in a display part in a grouped form of the area code, city code and subscriber number.

A noise cancellation system with improved performance for canceling from an input signal of a microphone a noise component relating to reproduced sound of an audio system reproducing multiple channels of sound, provided with an audio canceller for acquiring audio signals of two channels and processing them by filter coefficients by convolutional processing so as to produce noise cancellation signals at adaptive filters, an adder for adding the input signal of the microphone and the noise cancellation signals, canceling the noise component from the input signal, and outputting the signal after noise cancellation, nonlinear converters for nonlinear conversion of the signal after noise cancellation, and filter learning units for calculating the filter coefficients to be set next based on the nonlinear converted signal.
