In an object display device, a pattern extraction unit extracts a region where an object is easily visually recognized when the object is overlaid and displayed in an image in real space, from the image in real space, based on information about the size and color of the object and information about the color of the image in real space that are acquired by an image analysis unit, and a display position correction unit corrects the display position of the object to this region. This facilitates visual recognition of the object and enhances various effects, such as informativeness, brought about by the displaying of the object in the image in real space.

An object display device includes an image capturing unit for acquiring an image in real space, an image feature extraction unit for extracting a predetermined feature about an image either in a plurality of feature regions detected from the image in real space or in the entire image in real space, an image processing unit for performing correction processing on an image of an object based on the predetermined feature about the image, and a display unit for displaying an overlaid image in which the image of the object subjected to correction processing is overlaid on the image in real space. With this configuration, the feature of the image in real space is appropriately reflected in the image of the object in the overlaid image.

A data distribution server, a mobile terminal, and a data distribution method perform distribution of data in consideration of memory capacity. In a mobile terminal, an amount-of-space arithmetic unit carries out an arithmetic operation for an amount of space and a possible amount of space of an object storage unit. Then, in an object distribution server, object data is selected based on the amount of space or the like, and a distribution list is generated and transmitted to the mobile terminal. In the mobile terminal, deletion of object data determined as deletable is performed in order to acquire object data in the distribution list. Acquisition of the object data is then performed.

In an object display device, in the case that a marker is not detected at present, a display complementing unit acquires a change in an image in real space displayed on a display unit between the past when the marker was detected and the present. Since a virtual object is displayed based on the position and shape of the marker in the image in real space, the display position and display manner of the virtual object are also to be changed in accordance with a change in the image in real space. A display decision unit can therefore decide the display position and display manner of the virtual object at present from the display position and display manner of the virtual object in the past, based on the change in the image in real space between the past and the present.

An object display device includes: an image acquisition unit for acquiring an image in real space; a shade computation unit for acquiring shade information indicating an appearance position of a shadow in real space; an image processing unit for correcting the image in real space or an image of a marker stored in advance, so as to eliminate the effects of a shadow, based on the shade information; a marker sensing unit for extracting the marker from the image in real space using the image in real space and the image of the marker at least one of which is corrected; and a display unit for overlaying a virtual object associated with the marker on the image in real space.

In a terminal location specifying system, landmark information of a landmark located within a specified distance from an approximate position is retrieved based on approximate position information of a mobile terminal, and the retrieved landmark information is transmitted to the mobile terminal. The mobile terminal can thereby acquire the landmark information about the landmark located in the vicinity of the mobile terminal. Further, because the landmark information pre-stored in a server is transmitted to the mobile terminal, it is possible to reliably specify the position of the mobile terminal based on the landmark image. Then, the photographing position of the image is analyzed based on the landmark image, and the photographing position is managed as the located position of the mobile terminal and used for position correction, and it is thus possible to accurately specify the position of the mobile terminal.
