Engine cooling water is charged to a flexible diaphragm member () to expand the flexible diaphragm member () so that the substantial sectional area of an air passage () is decreased when a ventilation resistance, in an air conditioning casing () in a maximum heating or a foot mode, is increased. On the other hand, the engine cooling water is discharged from the flexible diaphragm member () to deflate the flexible diaphragm member () so that the substantial sectional area of the air passage () is increased when a ventilation resistance, in the air conditioning casing () in maximum cooling or face mode, is decreased. Thus, the property of a fan () can be changed into a property suitable for foot mode having a large ventilation resistance, while heating air is being supplied.

Vehicle air conditioner

In a centrifugal blower, a casing forms a scroll duct on the outer periphery of a centrifugal fan. The scroll duct includes a motor scroll duct wall extending from the periphery of a motor casing wall in a radial direction, a suction scroll duct wall extending from the periphery of a suction casing wall in an axial direction, and an outer peripheral wall smoothly connecting the motor scroll duct wall and the suction scroll duct wall. The scroll duct walls include curves having substantially arc-shaped cross-sections. A radius of curvature of the arc of the motor scroll duct wall is greater than that of the suction scroll duct wall. The scroll duct does not form a protrusion in the inside. The air discharged from the fan creates a secondary flow in a single course of a swirling flow in the scroll duct. Therefore, noise due to interference with the discharging flow and secondary flow reduces.

Centrifugal blower

In a centrifugal blower, a centrifugal fan is housed in a scroll casing and driven by a motor. The scroll casing includes a suction scroll wall and a motor scroll wall. The scroll casing forms a scroll air passage between a first protruding portion of the suction scroll wall and a second protruding portion of the motor scroll wall. A fin is provided in the scrolled air passage as a directing member for directing a secondary flow in a direction parallel to a direction of a primary flow discharging from the centrifugal fan. The fin restricts the secondary flow from colliding with the primary flow, thereby to reduce noise due to interference of the air flows.

The same size casing is used for interior air blowers of a combination air conditioning and heater interior unit disposed in left- and right-hand drive vehicles, respectively. A casing width is made nearly constant from a start-of-winding position to an end-of-winding position. An approximately central fan datum line which passes through a fan is offset to a suction port side with respect to a casing datum line which passes through an approximately central part of a portion of the casing parallel to a blower rotational axis. A flange portion of a motor holder is located at a position offset to one side (suction port side) along the rotational axis rather than an opposite side along the same direction in the casing. By replacement of impression cores it is possible to manufacture the casings for right- and left-hand drive vehicles, respectively.

Blower for vehicle

In a blower unit for a vehicle air conditioner, an inside/outside air switching door opens an inside air introduction port and closes an outside air introduction port when an inside air introduction mode is set. Plural ribs for irregularly reflecting an air-blowing noise generated by a blower fan are provided on an inner surface of the inside/outside air switching door, and top ends of the ribs are arranged along a main flow of inside air introduced from the inside air introduction port during the inside air introduction mode. Thus, the blower unit effectively reduces a reflected noise on the inner surface of the inside/outside air switching door, and effectively prevents a disturbance noise of the main flow of inside air.

According to the present invention, in an air conditioning apparatus setting a double laminar mode in which inside air and outside air are blown while being partitioned, when the maximum heating state (including the high heating capacity close to the maximum heating operation) is set, a warm air bypass door for introducing warm air directly into a foot opening portion, without being mixed into cool air, functions as a movable partition member for partitioning an air passage at a downstream side of a heating heat exchanger, into an inside air passage and an outside air passage. In this way, it is possible to downsize the air conditioning unit.

Air conditioning apparatus for vehicle

An electric element (Peltier element composite) is disposed in a boundary between an outside air introduction passage and an inside air introduction air passage (,). The Peltier element composite absorbs heat from the inside air in the inside air introduction passage to cool and dehumidify the inside air and radiates heat to outside air in the outside air introduction passage. The inside air and outside air are blown out from a defroster air outlet through a second air passage. In this way, it is possible to increase an amount of introduced inside air and to improve the heating performance while maintaining the defrosting performance.

Air conditioning apparatus for vehicle with thermoelectric dehumidifier in a double layer system

An engine cooling apparatus suitable for use in a vehicle shortens engine warm-up time without decreasing the heat-radiation capacity of a radiator. A shroud is disposed between a radiator and a water-cooled engine. A first air passage for blowing air toward the engine and its auxiliaries is formed in the upper side of the shroud, and a second air passage for discharging air having passed through the radiator to outside the engine compartment is formed in the lower side of the shroud. Accordingly, air is prevented from directly striking the engine and from passing around to the upstream side of the radiator through gaps between the walls of the engine compartment and the radiator. Thus the engine warm-up time is shortened without reducing the heat-radiation capacity of the radiator.

An air conditioning apparatus for a rear seat of a vehicle includes a centrifugal fan disposed at a downstream air side of an evaporator. The centrifugal fan is a backward curved fan having a plurality of blades each of which is curved backward relative to a rotation direction of the centrifugal fan. In the centrifugal fan, because a main component of velocity vector is in a radial direction of the centrifugal fan, a dynamical-pressure component of air blown from the centrifugal fan can be effectively changed to a hydrostatic-pressure component. Thus, during a cooler mode where air is simultaneously blown from first and second air outlets toward the rear space of the passenger compartment, a pressure of air blown from the first and second air outlets can be increased, and an amount of air blown toward the rear space of the passenger compartment can be sufficiently increased.

Air conditioning apparatus for a rear seat of vehicle

An automotive air conditioner comprises an offset blower for blowing an air, an evaporator is centrally disposed within a dashboard and receives the air from below, and a heater approximately horizontally disposed above the evaporator. The evaporator inclines downward along the direction of the air flow. A plurality of condensed water guide plates are provided under the evaporator so as to allow a condensed water smoothly flow on the surface of each guide plate and is discharged from the evaporator through a condensed water drain pipe.

Automotive air conditioner

When the engine is stopped while the engine is warmed up, the cooling water in the engine stays therein without flowing out of the engine, and the cooling water in the radiator or the bypass passage is used for heating source for the heating operation. In this way, it is possible to heat the passenger compartment continuously even after the engine is stopped and to suppress the temperature of the cooling water from lowering to reduce the emission at restarting of the engine.

Heating apparatus for vehicle

A blower unit for an automobile air conditioner includes a centrifugal fan having a suction port for sucking outside air, and a motor for rotating the fan. The motor is disposed approximately horizontally to penetrate through the suction port of the fan. One end of the fan in an axial direction is connected to a rotation shaft of the motor by a connection member, and a water-prevention member is disposed on an outer peripheral surface of the motor at an inner peripheral side of the one end of the fan in the axial direction. The water-prevention member prevents water dropped onto the outer peripheral surface of the motor from moving to a side of the connection member. Further, the water-prevention member includes a groove portion for receiving water dropped from the one end of the fan along the connection member. Thus, in the blower unit, the water-prevention member prevents water from flowing into the motor.

Blower unit for automobile air conditioner

A deodorizing filter for adsorbing malodorous particles in air is disposed at a downstream air side of a circumferential wall of an inside/outside air switching rotary door which opens and closes inside and outside air intake ports. A gap having a predetermined distance is provided between the deodorizing filter and the circumferential wall of the rotary door. The deodorizing filter is rotated integrally with the rotary door. When the rotary door is rotated to open both the outside and inside air intake ports at their intermediately opened positions, the inside air flowing from the inside air intake port directly flows into an outlet side of an inside/outside air switching box, and the outside air introduced from the outside air intake port passes through the gap and the deodorizing filter and flows into the outlet side of the inside/outside air switching box.
