A projector includes: an operating panel having a plurality of operating buttons which carry out various operations, is exposed in the external surface of an exterior housing; a projection optical device configured to project an image light into which an incident luminous flux has been modulated in accordance with image information; an image adjustment section configured to change the relative positions of a plurality of lenses configuring the projection optical device; and an image adjustment panel having image adjustment buttons which cause the image adjustment section to operate, wherein the image adjustment panel is disposed in a position independent of the operating panel.

There are provided a test probe for a measuring instrument, and a tester incorporating the test probe. The test probe includes a probe, a lead wire, a grip and a lead wire-holding piece. A probe for being brought into contact with a measuring object has a proximal end. A lead wire has one end thereof connected to a main unit of the measuring instrument and the other end thereof connected to the probe. A grip protects a portion connecting the probe and the lead wire. The grip is engaged with the proximal end of the probe. A lead wire-holding piece fixedly holds a distal end of the covered portion of the lead. The grip has a retaining portion engaged with the lead wire-holding piece for preventing the lead wire from being drawn out from the grip. In another form, the test probe has a crimp contact for connecting the proximal end of the probe and an uncovered portion of the lead wire. The grip protects a portion connecting the probe and the lead wire, including the crimp contact. The grip is fixedly engaged with the proximal end of the probe.

A rotary switch device and a tester incorporating the rotary switch device are provided. A dial is rotatably mounted in a casing. Brushes are provided for rotation about a rotation axis of the dial as the dial is rotated. Electrical contacts are brought into sliding contact with the brushes by rotation of the brushes. A click mechanism controls rotation of the dial in a clicking manner. The click mechanism has a waved-surface portion formed in one of the dial and the casing and arranged in a manner concentric with the dial, and at least one click spring portion formed in another of the dial and the casing, for clicking engagement with the waved-surface portion. The at least one click spring portion has a support portion protruding axially of the dial from a base surface of the one of the dial and the casing, and at least one spring portion extending from the support portion along the base surface in a manner concentric with the dial.

A digital multimeter having a structure built to withstand mechanical shock. The digital multimeter has an enclosure in which there is disposed a shielding or protecting plate provided with an elastic projection for pressing a liquid crystal panel toward a side of the enclosure and a battery holding projection for holding a battery mounted on a battery holder. The shielding or protecting plate is supported on the side of the enclosure. The shielding or protecting plate is also provided with a partition plate for fixing a crystal resonator element mounted on the circuit board. On the side of the enclosure, there is provided a pair of projections to prevent a fuse from moving. Thus, component elements disposed in the digital multimeter, which may leave their given location due to mechanical shock applied, for example, when the digital multimeter is dropped are 'fixed' by, among other things, the shielding plate and the enclosure thereby improving the multimeter's resistance against mechanical shock.

A digital multimeter is provided with a highly reliable seal at a connection interface between an upper and lower enclosure forming an enclosure. The multimeter also has a highly reliable seal at peripheral boundaries of operating elements disposed on a surface of the enclosure thereby providing a highly-reliable, water-proof and dust-proof mechanism at a low cost. A packing serves as an elastic sealing material and is disposed at the connection interface between the upper enclosure and the lower enclosure. The packing is pressed and crushed in a slant direction relative to the direction of the thickness of the enclosure thereby providing a sealing mechanism at the connection interface. The periphery of a rubber key serving as an operating element is sealed by a double sealing mechanism comprising an uneven face formed on a peripheral side and an even face formed on the upper enclosure. The periphery of a rotary switch is sealed by a sealing mechanism including an O-ring pressed in a direction perpendicular to the thickness of the enclosure. Thus, the invention provides a simple sealing mechanism for a digital multimeter which provides excellent protection from water and dust.

Digital multimeter having an improved enclosure

A multimeter is provided having an erroneous input prevention mechanism that allows more than one mode to be assigned to an input terminal hole located in a central section of a shutter board based on movement of a rotary switch. When the rotary switch is rotated, the first and the second drive-side protrusions formed at separate locations from the selector push away the first or second slave-side protrusions in the slave shell to rotate the shutter board about the center at the negative common terminal hole. Thus, only a specific terminal hole is in the open state. Even when the rotary switch is rotated to a predetermined position, the shutter board does not rotate to leaving the first input terminal hole in the open state.
