A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus according to an embodiment includes a Radio Frequency (RF) coil configured to apply an RF magnetic field to a subject. The RF coil includes: a supporting member formed to have a circular cylindrical shape; and an electrically-conductive member which is arranged to extend along an axial direction of the supporting member and through which a radio frequency current flows when the RF magnetic field is generated. The electrically-conductive member includes: a first part provided on an outer circumferential surface of the supporting member; and a second part positioned farther away from an RF shield provided on an outer circumferential side of the RF coil than the first part is, in terms of a radial direction of the supporting member.

The storage circuitry is configured to store therein workflow information indicating a plurality of procedures related to a preparation for an imaging process. Couchtop attachment-detachment type RF coil and magnetic resonance imaging apparatus

A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus according to an embodiment includes a plurality of first coil elements and a connector. The first coil elements are embedded in a couchtop on which a subject is placed. The connector is provided in such a region of the couchtop that is positioned on the inside of the loop of at least one of the first coil elements. It is possible to attach and detach a second coil element different from the first coil elements to and from the connector.

Magnetic resonance imaging apparatus

According to one embodiment, an MRI apparatus includes a data acquisition system and a control system. The data acquisition system acquires MR signals from a subject. The control system acquires the MR signals by controlling the data acquisition system to generate image data. The data acquisition system has a WB coil, an RF coil and a breaker circuit. The WB coil applies the RF magnetic field to the imaging area. The RF coil applies the RF magnetic field to the imaging area when an RF pulse has been applied from the control system through a connector. The RF coil is set inside the WB coil. The breaker circuit electrically breaks a part of a circuit constituting the RF coil when the connector of the RF coil has been disconnected to the control system.

MRI apparatus includes a first radio frequency (RF) communication unit, a second RF communication unit, an image reconstruction unit and a table for loading an object. The first RF communication unit obtains a nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) signal detected by an RF coil device, and wirelessly transmits a digitized NMR signal via an induced electric field. The second RF communication unit receives the NMR signal via the induced electric field. The image reconstruction unit reconstructs image data based on the NMR signal. The table includes a supporting unit which detachably supports the first RF communication unit to the second radio communication unit so that an interval between the first and second RF communication units enables RF communication via the induced electric field.

According to one embodiment, an MRI apparatus includes a first RF coil device, a radio communication unit and an image reconstruction unit. The first RF coil device is wirelessly connected to a second RF coil device, and receives a nuclear magnetic resonance signal wirelessly transmitted from the second RF coil device. The first RF coil device wirelessly transmits the nuclear magnetic resonance signal detect by the first RF coil device and the nuclear magnetic resonance signal obtained from the second RF coil device to the radio communication unit, via an induced electric field. The radio communication unit receives the nuclear magnetic resonance signals wirelessly transmitted from the first RF coil device via an induced electric field. The image reconstruction unit reconstructs image data on the basis of the nuclear magnetic resonance signals received by the radio communication unit.

A plurality of rod members, each of which is formed of a conductive material having a rod shape have one end portion connected to one of the two end members and the other end portion connected to the other of the two end members. At east one additional member is formed of a conductive member having a rod shape, the additional member having both ends connected to one of the rod members, the additional member being disposed outside a first imaging region formed by the end members and the rod members, and forming a second imaging region.
