A projection image display device includes: an optical element that separates incident light into a first color light beam and a second color light beam, synthesizes the first color light beam and the second color light beam to generate synthetic light, and emits the synthetic light; a first display panel that reflects and modulates the first color light beam; a second display panel that reflects and modulates the second color light beam; a first heat dissipator that dissipates heat of the first display panel; a second heat dissipator that dissipates heat of the second display panel; a light shielding portion that blocks a part of the second color light beam reflected by the second display panel from traveling toward the first display panel; a light shield heat dissipator that dissipates heat of the light shielding portion; and a container. The second heat dissipator is disposed outside the container.

Projection image display device

The display device includes a light source unit that emits light, a first display element, and a second display element. The display device further includes a light separating and synthesizing member that separates the light emitted from the light source unit into first light and second light having different wavelength regions, emits the first light toward the first display element, emits the second light toward the second display element, and synthesizes the first light that has been reflected and modulated by the first display element and the second light that has been reflected and modulated by the second display element. The display device further includes a light absorbing member that covers a part of the first display element. The light absorbing member absorbs a part of the modulated second light reflected by the second display element and directed toward the first display element.

A drive device includes a housing in which a gas is sealed, wherein density of the gas is lower than density of air, a driven object housed inside the housing, a driver configured to drive the driven object, a current detector configured to detect a value of a current flowing into the driver, and a determinator configured to determine a concentration of the gas inside the housing based on the value of the current detected.

A phosphor wheel includes: a substrate having a first main surface, a second main surface opposite to the first main surface, and an open portion; a phosphor layer provided on the first main surface; and a fin provided on the second main surface. The fin is nearer a center of the substrate than the phosphor layer is, and the open portion is located between the phosphor layer and the fin.

Phosphor wheel and projection-type image display device

A cooling device cools down a wheel having a disc shape. The wheel is hermetically enclosed in an enclosure and rotationally driven about a rotation shaft. The cooling device includes blade members that are disposed on one surface of the wheel, a heat dissipater to which a gas heated by the wheel is blown by the blade members due to rotation of the wheel, and a gas flow definer that is located inside the enclosure, and separates a flow path along which the gas that has been cooled by the heat dissipater flows before being blown to the one surface and a flow path along which the gas that has been blown to the one surface and heated flows.

Cooling device and projection-type image display apparatus

A disk-shaped substrate made of a heat conductive material is provided with, along an outer periphery of one surface of the substrate, a ring-shaped phosphor that emits light by irradiation with blue laser light that is excitation light. The substrate is provided with, on another surface of the substrate, a plurality of convex portions dotting a region corresponding to a region provided with the phosphor. In a phosphor wheel, the substrate is driven by a motor to rotate about an axis of rotation.

Phosphor wheel, illumination apparatus and projection type image display apparatus

A phosphor wheel device includes: a phosphor wheel; a motor; and a plurality of blades. The phosphor wheel has: a disc-shaped substrate; and a phosphor disposed on one surface of the substrate in a circumferential direction. The motor rotatably drives the phosphor wheel. The plurality of blades are fixed to the other surface of the substrate so as to be integrally rotated with the phosphor wheel, and extend in a radial direction of the phosphor wheel from an axis of rotation of the motor.
