The heterogeneous catalyst includes a metal catalyst such as platinum, palladium, platinum-iridium alloy, or platinum-rhenium alloy formed on a porous support. The hydrogenation is processed at a temperature of 40&#xb0; C. to 150&#xb0; C. under a hydrogen pressure of 10 kg/cmto 50 kg/cm.

The present invention discloses a method for partially hydrogenating polymer. The method comprises providing a polymer having at least one vinyl aromatic block; and hydrogenating the polymer in presence of a heterogeneous catalyst on a support selected from the group consisting of BaSO, AlO, TiO, ZrO, active carbon and any combination thereof to obtain a hydrogenated polymer. The hydrogenated polymer comprises at least one hydrogenated vinyl aromatic block having a carbon ring linking with a backbone of the hydrogenated polymer, wherein the average weight percent of the hydrogenated vinyl aromatic block(s) having only one and two double bonds on the carbon ring is between 1-30 wt % based on the total weight of the hydrogenated polymer.

Partially hydrogenated polymer and method thereof

A method for manufacturing metal nano particles having a hollow structure is provided. First, a suitable reducing agent is added into a first metal salt solution, and first metal ions are reduced to form first metal nano particles. Next, after the reducing agent is decomposed, a second metal salt solution with a higher reduction potential than that of the first metal is added. Then, the first metal particles are oxidized to form first metal ions when the second metal ions are reduced on the surface of the first metal by electrochemical oxidation reduction reaction, and thus, second metal nano particles having a hollow structure and a larger surface area are obtained. The method is simple and the metal nano particles with uniform particle size are obtained by this method.

The invention provides a method for manufacturing a highly dispersed carbon supported metal catalyst, including charging a carbon support and a dispersing agent in water. The carbon support is evenly dispersed in water with an average diameter of 10 nm to 2000 nm and a specific surface area of 50 m/g to 1500 m/g. A metal salt of Pd, Pt, or combinations thereof is formed on the carbon support surface and then reduced to a valance state less than (IV).

The present invention discloses a novel electrode-catalyst for direct methanol fuel cell prepared by introducing a carbon precursor into pores of a wormhole-like molecular sieve template, carbonizing the carbon precursor, removing the molecular sieve template to obtain a wormhole-like mesoporous carbon having a high specific surface of 800-1000 m/g and a pore size of 4-5 nm, and depositing catalyst metal such as Pt&#x2014;Ru on the mesoporous carbon.
