Described is a method and device for detecting a DTX state at a UCI receiver in a wireless communication system. The method comprises receiving a linear block encoded signal on an uplink at said UCI receiver and processing the received signal after resource element (RE) demapping to generate a soft bit sequence {right arrow over (s)}. The method includes selecting a plurality of bits in said generated soft bit sequence {right arrow over (s)} as comparison bits and comparing said selected comparison bits to corresponding bits in a reconstructed soft bit sequence {right arrow over (r)}. The reconstructed soft bit sequence {right arrow over (r)} is generated from a plurality of bits selected as reconstruction bits in said generated soft bit sequence {right arrow over (s)}. A comparison or correlation metric is determined between the comparison bits and the corresponding bits in the reconstructed soft bit sequence {right arrow over (r)}, and a determination is made of the occurrence of a DTX state by evaluating the determined comparison or correlation metric.

Method and device for detecting partial discontinuous transmission (DTX) using bits reconstruction

An iterative multi-image camera orientation estimation comprising: capturing an image of a scene before the camera; detecting line segments in the scene; computing a maximum likelihood (ML) camera orientation by maximizing a likelihood objective by rotating the camera's X-Y-Z coordinate system such that it is being optimally aligned with the line segments in at least two of the frontal, the lateral, and the vertical orthogonal directions; estimating a maximum a-posteriori (MAP) camera orientation that maximizes an a-posteriori objective such that the MAP camera orientation is an optimal value in between the priori camera orientation and the ML camera orientation, and is closer to the one with smaller uncertainty; iterating the multi-image camera orientation estimation with the priori camera orientation and its corresponding priori camera orientation uncertainty set to the computed MAP camera orientation and its corresponding uncertainty respectively until the uncertainty is lower than a threshold.

Apparatus and method for estimating camera orientation relative to ground surface

Described is a method and device for detecting a discontinuous transmission (DTX) state or a partial DTX state at an uplink control information (UCI) receiver in a wireless communication system. The method comprises receiving a linear block encoded signal on an uplink (UL) at said UCI receiver and processing said signal after resource element (RE) demapping to obtain a soft bit sequence. The soft bit sequence is then transformed into multiple sub-sequences. Correlation metrics are determined for two or more of the multiple sub-sequences or two or more sub-sequence groups derived from the multiple sub-sequences or sequence segments derived from the sub-sequence groups. Then, a determination is made if a DTX state has occurred by evaluating the determined correlation metrics.

The method involves receiving a linear block encoded signal on an uplink (UL) at said UCI receiver device and processing the received linear block encoded signal after resource element (RE) dernapping to obtain channel estimation data. The method includes determining from said channel estimation data a DTX metric for one or more selected resource blocks (RBs) and determining if a DTX state has occurred by comparing the determined DTX metric to a calculated, selected, or predetermined threshold.

Method and device for detecting partial discontinuous transmission (DTX) using channel estimation data

Described is a method of processing a signal received at an uplink control information (UCI) receiver in a wireless communication system. The method comprises processing a signal received on an uplink (UL) at said UCI receiver to transform said received signal into a likelihood calculation of possible transmitted codewords (&#x3b8;. . . &#x3b8;i . . . &#x3b8;) and determining a maximum magnitude &#x3b8;value from said likelihood calculation. The method includes comparing said maximum magnitude &#x3b8;value to a selected, calculated or predetermined scaled threshold S&#xb7;&#x3c4; where &#x3c4; is a threshold and S is a scaling factor for the threshold &#x3c4;. The comparison step is such that, where |&#x3b8;|&#x3e;S&#xb7;&#x3c4;, the method comprises determining that the signal received comprises a linear block encoded signal. In the method, prior to said comparison step, the scaling factor S is selected from a plurality of scaling factor options. One scaling factor option (i) is a scaling factor Sderived from a combination of estimated noise and/or signal power at an output of a resource element (RE) demapper module and an estimated channel response from/before an equalizer module of said UCI receiver. The options also include using a combination of Sand a suitable scaling factor derived excluding option (i).

Method and device for detecting discontinuous transmission (DTX) assisted by noise estimation

Described is a method and device for processing a signal received at an uplink control information (UCI) receiver in a wireless communication system. The method comprises processing a signal received on an uplink (UL) at said UCI receiver to transform said received signal into a likelihood calculation of possible transmitted codewords (&#x3b8;). The likelihood calculation of possible transmitted codewords (&#x3b8;) may comprise a multi-dimensional discrete Fourier transform (DFT) (&#x3b8;) of said received signal. The multi-dimensional may be formed as a Hadamard Transform. The method includes determining a maximum magnitude &#x3b8;value from said likelihood calculation of possible transmitted codewords (&#x3b8;) and then comparing said &#x3b8;value to a selected, calculated or predetermined scaled threshold c&#xb7;&#x3c4; where &#x3c4; is a threshold and c is a scaling factor for the threshold &#x3c4;. The comparison is such that, where &#x3b8;&#x3e;c&#xb7;&#x3c4;, it is determined that the signal received on the UL at said UCI receiver comprises a linear block encoded signal. In some cases, the scaling factor c may be omitted.

Method and device for detecting discontinuous transmission (DTX) for small block encoded signals

A method for estimating camera orientation relative to a ground surface. Line segments are detected from an image captured by a camera. A first virtual cube having three orthogonal vanishing points with a random 3D orientation is superimposed on to the image. The line segments of the image are classified grouped into 3D-directional groups. A second virtual cube is superimposed on to the image with an initial 3D orientation. An optimal 3D orientation of the second virtual cube is computed by iteratively changing the 3D orientation of the second virtual cube and measuring perpendicular distances of the three orthogonal vanishing points to the three line segment groups in each iteration starting with the initial 3D orientation, wherein the optimal 3D orientation of the second virtual cube being one that provides shortest perpendicular distances. Co-variances of the orthogonal vanishing points of the second virtual cube at the optimal orientation are computed. Ground orientation is computed from the second virtual cube at the optimal orientation.

Described is a method of reducing uplink inter-cell interference in a cellular communications network. The method comprises identifying in a cell any user equipments (UEs) which are susceptible to interference (ISUs) from another UE, particularly another UE in a neighboring cell. The method includes identifying in said cell any UEs causing interference (ICUs) to at least one neighboring cell and, more particularly, causing interference to a UE in a neighboring cell. The identified ISUs and ICUs are combined into a priority list for frequency resource reservation or allocation in said cell. The method may include limiting the identification of ISUs and ICUs to a selected number of UEs within the cell.

Described is a method and apparatus for processing an uplink (UL) signal at a Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) in a wireless communication system to determine a discontinuous transmission (DTX) state. The method comprises receiving a UL channel signal at a PUCCH receiver apparatus and, after resource element (RE) demapping of said received UL channel signal in said PUCCH receiver apparatus, normalizing a signal power of at least one signal element or resource. The normalized power is compared to a selected, calculated or predetermined threshold and, based on said comparison, a determination is made on whether or not a DTX state has occurred.

Provided is a method for determining a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) transmission signal. The method comprises receiving soft bits from a wireless communication physical channel uplink signal, said received soft bits being deemed to comprise HARQ LLRs and soft decoding said HARQ LLRs to output a hard ACK/NACK decision. The method includes processing said HARQ LLRs based on said hard ACK/NACK decision such that the processed HARQ LLRs map to a same or identical constellation point or points if the physical channel uplink signal contains an ACK or NACK transmission signal. The method also includes using said processed HARQ LLRs to determine if the physical channel uplink signal contains an ACK or NACK transmission signal or to determine if the physical channel uplink signal comprises discontinuous transmission (DTX).

Method and an apparatus for improving a determination of HARQ-ACK messages in a wireless communications system

Described is a method of decoding a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) involving physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH) resource grid search space reduction, timing offset (TO) estimation, and reference symbol identification. Resource grid search space reduction may include identifying resource blocks (RBs) having a signal power below a first threshold such that said RBs can be excluded from further processing. Search space reduction may additionally or alternatively include identifying RB pairs where a difference in signal power between the RBs comprising each pair of RBs is above a second threshold and excluding any such said RB pairs from further processing. TO compensation may include circularly correlating TO-compensated received DMRSs and their corresponding local DMRSs to obtain energy or power profiles. From the energy/power profiles, a subset L of highest stored power values and their corresponding cyclic shift (n) values can be chosen where said power values are equal to or exceed a third threshold. The selected subset L can be made available for use in a decoding process for a received channel signal.

A method and system for tracking a position and orientation of a target object that moves along a two-dimensional plane, a camera to generate video frames of the target object, and a processor configured to correct perspective scaling of a current one of the video frames; estimate a current location and angle of the target object using a motion model or its previous location/angle; cut out a region of interest from the current video frame around the estimated current location; resize the region of interest to shrink its size by a predetermined ratio M (width=width/M, height=height/M) or equivalently reducing the image resolution of the region of interest by the ratio M (resolution=resolution/M); track a new location of the target object by template matching the current region of interest with a previously stored template; and either conclude the tracked target object location and angle are accurate and updating the template if a stopping criterion is reached with indication of successful tracking, or proceed with a refinement method to refine the tracked location and angle until the stopping criterion is eventually reached.

Embodiments may provide for detection of a physical random access channel (PRACH) signal in a cellular radio communication system using resource elements in the frequency domain, wherein the PRACH signal is multiplexed with signals of other channels (e.g., data and/or control channel signals) of the cellular radio communication system. A frequency domain filter, such as implementing inverse discrete Fourier transform (IDFT) with down-sampling using indices for PRACH recovery, may be utilized to extract PRACH samples from frequency domain resource elements provided in a resource grid corresponding to a different subcarrier spacing than that of the PRACH.

The method comprises obtaining a channel impulse response (CIR) of a signal received at the receiver and deriving a power characteristic of the CIR. The method includes producing a first derivative of the power characteristic with respect to time, selecting some or all extrema from the first derivative of the power characteristic as indicative of candidate signal paths, and selecting one or more of said candidate signal paths. The method preferably includes determining timing of arrival of a signal on a first path of arrival at the receiver by assessing an energy value of each of said candidate signal paths against a threshold value.

The present disclosure relates to methods, devices, and systems for cell identification. For example, the systems, devices, and methods described herein may be used to detecting a secondary synchronization signal (SSS) index. In an aspect of the present disclosure, a method includes detecting, at an electronic device, a first SSS index based on a comparison between a first power value and a first threshold. The first power value is associated with a correlation power result between a received signal from a base station and a local SSS. The method also include determining, at the electronic device, a second threshold based on the first power value, and performing a comparison between a second power value and the second threshold. The second power value is determined based on the received signal.
