There is provided a laser alignment device () for use between a laser device () and a planar surface of an object e.g. wall () at which a laser beam () is to aim at right angles. The laser alignment device () includes a back member () for use against or parallel to the wall surface, which includes a back indicia (). Also included is a front member () having a front indicia () on an imaginary plane shared with the back indicia () and perpendicular to the back member (). The front indicia () is positioned for access by the laser beam () to reach the back indicia () when the laser beam () is aligned to aim at the wall surface at right angles.

Device and method for laser alignment

A wall scanner that includes a housing, a plurality of sensors, a display, and a control section. The housing includes a handle portion and a body portion. The handle portion is adapted to receive a removable and rechargeable battery pack such as a high-voltage lithium-ion ('Li-Ion') battery pack. The body portion of the housing encloses the plurality of sensing devices, such as capacitive plate sensors for sensing the presence of a stud behind a surface, a D-coil sensor for identifying the presence of metal behind the surface, and a non-contact voltage sensor. The display is configured to display the location of an object behind the surface in real-time, the depth of an object behind the surface, and whether an object behind the surface is ferrous or non-ferrous. The control section includes actuation devices for controlling the functions and operations of the wall scanner, such as the scanning mode.

Wall scanner

A laser level containing a housing, an electronic tilt sensor located in the housing; a controller to which the electronic tilt sensor is connected, and a laser module. The controller is communicable with a first display device and a second display device. The laser line is adapted to project a straight ground laser line on a flat surface. The electronic tilt sensor is adapted to detect a tilt of the laser level and provide a measurement signal to the controller. The controller is adapted to provide a display signal to the first and second display devices to display information about the tilt. By using an electronic tilt sensor, the laser level can provide accurate indicate of the tilt of the device and also allows such tilt information to be processed further.
