There is provided a user equipment apparatus that includes at least one processor and at least one memory. The memory stores instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the user equipment apparatus at least to perform an initial cell search of one or more cells on a network. A synchronization raster includes a cluster of three raster points positioned every 600 kHz.

Initial cell search procedure

According to a first embodiment, a method may include calculating at least one moving average window size in a frequency domain associated with a channel bandwidth and adjusting the at least one moving average window size in the frequency domain for at least one demodulation reference signal subcarrier in at least one resource block where at least one gap having a size of at least a predefined size is between the at least one resource block. The at least one resource block comprises a predetermined number of demodulation reference signal subcarriers.

Equalizer coefficients for error vector magnitude measurement in new radio base station conformance testing

Methods and apparatus for base station conformance testing are disclosed. Two wireless carriers that are based on different radio technologies and dynamically share a radio spectrum are received from a base station. Frequencies and timings of the two wireless carriers are measured and a frequency difference between the measured frequencies and a timing difference between the measured timings of the two wireless carriers are then determined. It can then be determined whether the frequency and timing differences satisfy predefined criteria for acceptable frequency and timing differences.

Testing a base station

A method and apparatus for signaling a message regarding UE receiver performance degradation between a user equipment and a network. Close UL/DL frequencies or harmonic relationships may cause MSD. A user equipment may indicate an actual or improved maximum sensitivity degradation value for a configuration, or that there is no maximum sensitivity degradation for a configuration, using capability transfer signaling, RRC reconfiguration signaling, and/or measurement reporting. The indicated maximum sensitivity degradation for a configuration may be found in a table. The user equipment may additionally signal information about configuration(s) it supports and/or measurements it has made related to cross band transmit-to-receive degradation and/or SINR. A UE may implicitly indicate a MSD value through selection of a bandwidth combination set. MSD may be used by the network to assist in making scheduling decisions.

Example embodiments of the invention provide at least a method and apparatus to perform at least determining, by a user equipment of a communication network, information comprising a plurality of frequency ranges of a transmission; receiving, by the user equipment, the plurality of frequency ranges of the transmission distributed over different time slots monitored by the user equipment; and combining, by the user equipment, the received plurality of frequency ranges to derive content of the transmission. Further, to perform at least determining, by a network device of a communication network, information comprising a plurality of frequency ranges of a transmission; and sending, by the network device, to user equipment of the communication network the plurality of frequency ranges of the transmission distributed over different time slots monitored by the user equipment for causing combining at the user equipment to derive content of the transmission.

Control resource set combining for reduced capability devices

Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for positioning support are provided. One method may include receiving, by a UE configured with power saving feature(s), positioning performance requirements for a positioning session. The method may also include estimating an impact of one or more power saving or reduced capability features on positioning measurements associated with the positioning session and, based on the accuracy and latency requirements and the estimated impact, determining the power saving or reduced capability features that the UE can implement while still achieving the accuracy and latency requirements for the positioning session. The method may then include signaling, to a network node, information on the determined power saving or reduced capability features that the UE can implement while still achieving the required accuracy and latency requirements for the positioning session.

Methods and apparatuses for mitigating reduced complexity features impact on positioning performance

An apparatus includes at least one processor; and at least one non-transitory memory including computer program code; wherein the at least one memory and the computer program code are configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus at least to: receive from a network a configuration of two or more uplink grants; transmit uplink data to the network during operating in a given time with one of the two or more uplink grants; and operate with a first operation following receiving an indication of triggering the first operation for the apparatus, or following the apparatus autonomously triggering the first operation; wherein operating with the first operation corresponds to at least using the one of the two or more uplink grants for uplink transmission.

Pre-configured and fast uplink bit rate switching

A BS generates a test configuration of wireless signals for testing the BS for compliance with one or more criteria. The BS supports NB-IoT signals and NR signals, and is configured to support multiple carriers and to support operation within an RF bandwidth. Wireless signal generation for testing base stations that support new radio and narrowband internet of things signals

Various communication systems may benefit from an improved signaling protocol. For example, communication systems may benefit from an improved network support for a narrowband internet of things in a hosting long term evolution carrier. A method, in certain embodiments, includes shifting a frequency of a downlink long term evolution channel by a pre-determined amount. The shift causes a duplex distance between the downlink long term evolution channel and an uplink long term evolution channel to change. The method includes blanking at least one overlapping radio resource in at least one of the uplink long term evolution channel or an uplink narrowband internet of things channel. The uplink narrowband internet of things channel and the uplink long term evolution channel at least partially overlap. In addition, the method includes receiving data on the uplink narrowband internet of things channel and an additional uplink narrowband internet of things channel at a network entity from a user equipment.

A method, device and computer program for generating wireless signals for testing a network node for transmitting Narrow Band Internet of Things signals, for compliance with predetermined criteria, the network node being configured to support multiple carriers and to support operation within at least one radio frequency bandwidth. The method comprises: controlling a wireless signal generator to generate one test signal in a frequency band towards one edge of one of the at least one radio frequency bandwidth and one further test signal in a frequency band towards the other edge of the same one of the at least one radio frequency bandwidth, the one test signal comprising a Narrowband Internet of Things test signal.
