Lubricating oil compositions are provided which contain bimodal copolymer compositions, and in particular bimodal ethylene-α-olefin copolymer compositions. The copolymer compositions comprise first and second ethylene-α-olefin copolymer components. The bimodal compositions are particularly useful as viscosity or rheology modifiers, e.g., in lubricating oil compositions. Lubricating oil compositions comprising the copolymer compositions advantageously exhibit enhanced shear stability index (SSI) and thickening efficiency (TE) values, while maintaining excellent low-temperature properties such as pour point, mini-rotary viscometer viscosity, and cold crank simulation performance.

Bimodal copolymer compositions useful as oil modifiers and lubricating oils comprising the same

A lubricating oil composition is disclosed which comprises (a) a major amount of an oil of lubricating viscosity; and (b) one or more non-halogen-containing oil-soluble titanium complexes comprising at least one ligand selected from the group consisting of (i) an anion of an &#x3b1;-, &#x3b2;- or &#x3b3;-hydroxycarbonyl compound; (ii) an anion of an &#x3b1;-, &#x3b2;- or &#x3b3;-hydroxycarboxylic acid, amide or ester; (iii) an anion of an &#x3b1;-, &#x3b2;- or &#x3b3;-aminocarboxylic acid; and (iv) an anion of an &#x3b1;-, &#x3b2;- or &#x3b3;-keto acid.

Lubricating oil compositions containing titanium complexes

The invention is directed to oil soluble additive compositions, lubricating oil compositions, and additive concentrates comprising the salt of (1) a molybdenum oxide, sulfide, or oxysulfide; (2) an amide reaction product of a carboxylic acid component and a polyamine component wherein the charge mole ratio (CMR) of the carboxylic acid component to the polyamine component is about 2:1 to 1:1; and (3) a post-treating agent.
