A portable terminal device has a timer directly transmitting a signal to a displaying circuit. The displaying circuit directly receives the signal from the timer at set time intervals to update time display of a display part. The control part of the portable terminal device need not be started to update the time display. The battery consumption of the portable terminal device can be reduced. The time display can be updated when the portable terminal device is in a power conservation state.

A voltage detection circuit is capable of detecting a low voltage without malfunctioning, and this so even if the voltage is lower than a minimum operating voltage. The voltage detection circuit includes two input terminals, a voltage selecting circuit, and a voltage-detecting integrated circuit (IC). In operation, a standard voltage is input into a first input terminal of the voltage detection circuit and the voltage to be detected is input into the second input terminal. The first terminal voltage is then divided by a voltage divider circuit. This divided voltage and the voltage to be detected are input into the voltage selecting circuit, which outputs one of the voltages to the voltage detecting IC. The voltage detecting IC compares the input voltage to a detection voltage and outputs a value accordingly. To ensure that the detection circuit will function properly at all times, the voltage selection circuit inputs the divided voltage into the voltage detecting IC when the voltage to be detected falls below the minimum operating voltage.

An antenna driver is controlled such that, when the electric field intensity exceeds a predetermined value, the antenna is retracted or is not risen. An electromagnetic drive device for a focal plane shutter having a tubular yoke and a cylindrical permanent magnet concentrically fixed to the yoke by clamping apparatus. A moving coil in a space between the permanent magnet cylinder and the yoke rotates about the axis of the permanent magnet and is drivingly connected through a shaft to blades of a leading or trailing curtain of the shutter, wherein a pair of holes are formed in one of the end surfaces of the permanent magnet cylinder symmetrical with respect to the axis thereof. The running characteristic of the shutter blades can be adjusted when the distribution of magnetic flux density is previously adjusted by turning the permanent magnet with the use of a tool engaged in the holes.

In the disclosed motion picture system a shutter drive control circuit renders it possible to operate a rotary shutter in various exposure control modes including a mode in which rotation of the shutter is stopped for each long exposure of motion picture frame, the system can defer release of the shutter to the exposure aperture closed position pending completion of a picture frame exposure in any of the modes. The system terminates the preceding manual actuation of a shutter trigger when the taking of the particular picture frame is in progress.

A motion picture camera which can use a cartridge for film having a sound track includes sound recording means and a mechanism which actuates and releases the sound recording means to an operative state and to an inoperative state, respectively, in response to an actuation and a release of a shutter release member. All such parts which are needed to engage a film are arranged in a cartridge chamber defined in the camera housing so that the operator enables to readily insert a cartridge into the chamber so long as the sound recording means are set to their inoperative position. In another phase of the present invention, in order to insure proper sound effect, a motion picture camera of the type described and having a manually switchable picture image frame frequency control device having a plurality of switched positions is provided with locking means positioned adjacent the control device upon engagement therewith to lock the control device in a particular position for image-sound synchronous recording operation, and operatively associated with one of the switches of the circuit of the sound recording means upon engagement with the control device to close the switch.

Motion picture camera for use with a cartridge for film having a sound

A self-timer for cinecameras wherein an electric delay circuit is used for detecting a length of time from the release to the commencement of a photographing process which takes place with an electric power having been actually supplied to a film feeding motor. The amount of the rotation made by the film feeding motor from the start of the rotation of the motor is either mechanically or electrically detected. When the detected amount of rotation reaches a preset value corresponding to a number of frames of the film required for self-timer photographing, the motor is stopped to terminate the photographing operation, so that the photographing operation with the self-timer can be accomplished exactly for a preset number of frames.

An automatic exposure control system for controlling the diaphragm of a motion picture camera in accordance with the object brightness level photoelectrically determined from the amount of light passing through the diaphragm is provided with a manually switchable shutter control device having a number ofswitched positions including positions for selection of various speeds of rotation of the camera shutter and for selection of various shutter intervals each effected in one revolution of the shutter in combination with a corresponding number of branch circuits of the exposure metering device controlling operation of the camera diaphragm, whereby it is made possible to make exposures not only at normal light levels but also at low light levels outside the lower limit of the normal light level range.

A self-timer device for a motion picture camera of the type having a first motor for driving a film feeding device and a shutter device and a second motor for driving other moving parts such as a zoom lens system. In the device, automatic photographing controlling means which is provided with cam portions for controlling the timing for starting and stopping the camera release operation is operated by the second motor. For photographing, an interlock arrangement between the second motor and the other moving parts which are to be driven by the motor is released while, at the same time, the cam portions of the controlling means are brought into a given relation to a camera release arrangement. This is done in such a manner that the timing for starting and stopping the camera release, i.e. the time intervals between setting for automatic photographing and the actual commencement of it and between the start of photographing and the end of it, is controlled by the cam portions of the controlling means as the controlling means is operated by the second motor to accomplish an automatic photographing operation.

A photographic camera in which a film cartridge, housing a photographing film having a recording belt capable of recording sound signal, can be loaded, wherein for the purpose of effecting the recording of sound signal simultaneously with photographing a sound signal recording head and a constant speed film running mechanism are provided at the sound signal recording part being separated from an intermittent film transport mechanism for running the above mentioned film with a constant speed. The above mentioned sound signal recording head can take an active state wherein sound signal recording on the above mentioned sound signal recording belt is possible and an inactive state wherein said recording is impossible, selectively, and the shifting from said inactive state to the active state is done in an association with the action of the locking means of the cover of a chamber for the above mentioned film cartridge so that simultaneous sound recording and photographing can be done immediately after the camera cover is locked.
