A heating device () of a container processing device includes a main turret () which supplies a container () to high-frequency induction heating element () for providing a heat treatment to the container () so that the container () is sucked by bottom suction device (), a container supply turret () which supplies the container () to the main turret (); and an auxiliary turret () provided in a receiving area of the main turret (). The auxiliary turret () is configured to center the container () towards the bottom suction device () in the receiving area.

A lid for a beverage can possessing excellent characteristics in pressure resistant strength in which a predetermined pressure requirement is ensured by a simple gauging down. An annular groove portion of the can lid is formed to have such cross-sectional shapes that a panel wall portion is connected to a chuck wall radius portion so that a tangential line at a second contact point is vertical with respect to an axial direction of a center panel portion, while a chuck wall portion is connected to the chuck wall radius portion so that a tangential line at a first contact point is inclined to the radially inner side, and a curved portion with a radius Ris provided at a height hfrom the lowest point of the chuck wall radius portion and bent to the radially outer side.

Lid for beverage can excellent in pressure resistant strength

A necked-in and flange portion is formed in the open end of a seamless can body by using a can end holder driven for rotation about its axis, an axially movable inner roll of a reduced diameter disposed adjacent the can end holder, and a spinning roll positioned axially stationary outside the can body. While the can body with the open end telescoped onto the can end holder and in contact with the inner roll is rotated together with the can end holder, the spinning roll is advanced toward the can end holder and forced into the open end, and simultaneously the can body is moved in an axial direction away from the can end holder together with the inner roll, to form the necked-in and flange portion.
