A vibration damping control apparatus for a vehicle is applied to a vehicle that includes: a generator that is driven by an internal combustion engine to generate electric power; a regulator that controls field current passing through an excitation winding of the generator, so that generated voltage of the generator turns to an externally instructed adjusting voltage; and a battery that charges generated voltage of the generator. The vibration damping control apparatus for a vehicle includes an adjusting voltage setting means for setting the adjusting voltage based on a charge supply power request value required for controlling a residual capacity of the battery and a drive torque request value for the generator required for suppressing vibration of the vehicle.

In a vehicle control device, a dynamic characteristics description unit includes a model element simulating dynamic characteristics of motion or deformation of a controlled object. By using the model element, this unit simulates hysteresis characteristics caused during a process of motion or deformation of the controlled object based on at least one of an estimated value of the input manipulated variable and an estimated value of a disturbance input inputted in the controlled object, and defines a control target index of a motion state of the controlled object. A correction amount computing unit calculates a correction amount which adjusts the manipulated variable in such a way that the control target index related to the hysteresis characteristics becomes a desired state. A command output unit corrects manipulated variable based on the correction amount to produce a command for the corrected manipulated variable to output it to the controlled object.

Vehicle control device

In a control system, a first estimator estimates, as a first controlled force, a force being applied to a controlled object. A second estimator estimates, as a second controlled force, a force being transferred to the controlled object. An external force estimator estimates, as an external force, a force being exerted on the vehicle as the vehicle runs. A dynamics estimator estimates, based on the first controlled force, the second controlled force, and the external force, a value of a parameter that represents the dynamics of the controlled object. A compensator compensates for at least one of the first controlled force and the second controlled force such that the value of the parameter is within a preset target range.

System, program product, and method for dynamic control of vehicle

A vehicle motion control device adjusts vibrations occurring in components of a vehicle so as to control the motion of a vehicle having independent drive assemblies for front wheels and for rear wheels. The vehicle motion control device includes a base request torque calculation unit that calculates first and second base request torques in response to a request made by the driver of a vehicle. A correction torque calculation unit calculates first and second correction torques used to adjust vibrations in a low-frequency band and in a high-frequency band of the vibrations of the components of the vehicle. An internal combustion engine control unit and a motor generator control unit control an internal combustion engine and a motor generator so that the first and second base request torques are corrected with the first and second correction torques.

Vehicle motion control device

In an obtainer for obtaining speed feeling of a driver of a movable object, a gaze point setter sets a gaze point of the driver, and a motion detector detects relative motion of an environmental field around the mobile object with respect to the mobile object. A divergent component calculator projects the relative motion of the environmental field in a coordinate system. The coordinate system is formed by modeling a retina sphere of the driver of the mobile object. The divergent calculator calculates each of divergent components of the projected relative motion of the environmental field radially expanding from the gaze point. A speed feeling calculator calculates speed feeling of the driver based on the divergent components of the projected relative motion of the environmental field radially expanding from the gaze point calculated by the divergent component calculator.

Apparatus for controlling speed of mobile object

An object of the present invention is to execute an optimum control of vibrations due to a driver's operation of an accelerator pedal, steering wheel and brake pedal. The operation instructions are inputted into a vibration calculating means (kinetic model) comprising a vehicle body model, suspension model and tire model. Conventional kinetic model controlled the suspension in order to suppress the vehicle body vibration. However, in the kinetic model of the present invention, the tire vibration due to a change in the engine output is first absorbed by the suspension, whereby a residual vibration which was not be absorbed yet by the suspension is transferred to the vehicle body. The operation inputs are compensated by the three feed-back loops between the outputs of the above-mentioned three portions and input of the tire portion, giving the highest priority on the vehicle body model.

In an apparatus for supporting drive of a mobile object, a curl component calculator projects relative motion of a environmental field in a coordinate system formed by modeling a retina sphere of a driver of the mobile object. The curl component calculator calculates each of rotational components of the projected relative motion of the environmental field around a corresponding driver's eye direction to the gaze point. A target trajectory setter sets, as a target trajectory of the mobile object, an equal-magnitude line connecting a part of the rotational components of the projected relative motion of the environmental field, the part of the rotational components having a same magnitude.

Apparatus for supporting drive of mobile object based on target locus thereof

A travel support apparatus sets a travel locus of a vehicle based on a gaze point of a driver of the vehicle. By utilizing the gaze point, the travel locus is calculated and set for the travel control of the vehicle, especially for a curved portion of a road, in a matching manner that the calculated travel locus approximates the travel locus created by the steering operation of the driver. The above locus calculation scheme generates a natural travel locus because the driver of the vehicle usually gazes at an exit of the curved portion of the road when he/she steers the vehicle on the road. The natural travel locus calculated and set by the travel support apparatus prevents the driver from having discomfort and/or unsafe feeling while the travel of the vehicle is controlled by the apparatus.

Apparatus for travel support

A method and an apparatus for estimating behaviors of a vehicle are provided. At least two GPS antennas are located along a longitudinal axis of a vehicle so that speed vectors at the positions where the GPS antennas are located can be determined based on GPS signals received by the GPS antennas. The speed vectors are known to be estimated with high accuracy based on the GPS signals. The positions of the GPS antennas on the local coordinate system are estimated based on such highly accurate speed vectors, so that the estimated positions may also have high accuracy. Based on a line connecting these highly accurate positions of the GPS antennas, an inclination of the longitudinal axis of the vehicle is estimated. Use of the high-accuracy speed vectors enables high-accuracy estimation on the positions of the GPS antennas and the vehicle direction on the local coordinate system.

Method and apparatus for estimating behaviors of vehicle using GPS signals

A vehicle control system controls vibrations that are generated at a plurality of portions of a vehicle. An engine/drive system ECU and a brake system ECU store the same vehicle vibration model that is separated into a vehicle body vibration model, a chassis vibration model and a tire vibration model, respectively. The engine/drive system ECU controls the suppression of the vehicle body vibrations that are estimated from the vehicle vibration model and the brake system ECU controls the suppression of the chassis vibrations and the tire vibrations. Accordingly, it is easy to execute control for suppressing the respective vibrations.

Vehicle control system

A vehicle control system calculates driver-required wheel torque, correction wheel torque to stabilize vehicle motion, required output shaft torque, alternator base torque, target engine torque and alternator torque to realize the output shaft torque. The required output shaft torque is required to realize vehicle motion, and the alternator base torque is required to maintain amounts of electric power in batteries. In order to realize the torque including wide band frequency torque, a torque division unit divides the sum of the torque into each torque actuator response frequency torque. Therefore, the target alternator torque is calculated by the alternator base torque to maintain electric power in batteries and high frequency band torque required by vehicle motion control.

Vehicle control system and method

A vehicle control system estimates the vibration states of tires by using a vehicle vibration model that is separated into a vehicle body vibration model, a chassis vibration model, and a tire vibration model with high precision. The tire vibration model in the vehicle vibration model is formed of a rear wheel tire vibration model, a front wheel tire vibration model, and a virtual coupling element vibration model that virtually couples the rear wheel tire vibration model and the front wheel tire vibration model. Influence of the vibration state that is conducted between the front wheel tires and the rear wheel tires is considered while the tire vibration model and the chassis vibration model are separated from each other, thereby making it possible to estimate the vibrations that occur in the front wheel tires and the rear wheel tires.

A vehicle stability control system uses a physical quantity corresponding to a driver accelerator input to control engine power produced by an engine and to controllably drive an engine load device for regulating the engine power to produce a desired drive force. The vehicle stability control system includes a vibration detector and a corrector. The vibration detector determines a vibration that occurs during running of the vehicle to disturb the stability of the vehicle. The corrector drives the engine load device to suppress the vibration in response to the vibration determined by the vibration detector.

A system and method are disclosed for providing a display relating to at least one aspect of vehicle body action. The system includes at least one sensor, to sense information of a vehicle. Further, an estimating part is included to determine at least one aspect of vehicle body action based upon the sensed information.
