An anode substrate for a display device which is made of a glass plate and of which an inner surface formed thereon with color filters is smoothed with a smoothing layer. The anode substrate is subject to a heating treatment during manufacturing thereof is provided. The anode substrate includes at least one smoothing layer made of low-melting glass and formed on the inner surface of the glass plate. The low-melting glass has a softening point lower than a distortion point of the glass plate and a distortion point equal to or higher than a heating temperature in the subsequent step. A method for manufacturing the anode substrate is also disclosed.

Anode substrate for display device and method for manufacturing same

A strut aligning fixture capable of improving misregistration of struts arranged between two glass plates for a vacuum glass envelope to hold the glass plates spaced from each other at a predetermined interval. An alignment plate is formed of a first alignment plate member of a small thickness and a second alignment plate member of a large thickness by lamination. The first alignment plate member is provided with strut holes, which can be formed with high accuracy because of a reduced thickness of the first alignment plate member. The alignment plate is used as a fixture for arranging the struts in the vacuum glass envelope while minimizing misregistration of the struts.

A display apparatus capable of preventing deterioration in the light emission efficiency of a fluorescent member thereof, that of the emission performance of the emitter thereof and shortage of the life caused from the deterioration in the emission performance. The display apparatus according to the present invention has the structure such that each of insulating support rods for supporting an anode substrate and a cathode substrate in the container of the display apparatus has a glass fiber support rod body made of a non-alkali material and the surface of the support rod has a coating layer made of a hydrophobic material so as to prevent diffusion of alkali components and generation of oxygen from the insulating support rods.

A vacuum envelope capable of preventing contamination of an electron source and deterioration of luminous characteristics of a phosphor layer. Electrons emitted from a tip end of emitter cones are accelerated by an anode conductor to which a positive voltage is applied with respect to a gate conductor, to thereby impinge on the phosphor layer, leading to luminescence of the layer. The luminescence is observed through a transparent anode substrate. Spacers are bonded at only one end thereof to a cathode substrate by means of seal glass, to thereby keep the seal glass from being irradiated with electrons.

A display device capable of simplifying connection between a drive circuit and lead-out wirings led out of electrodes and being small-sized while keeping a size of an image plane from being reduced. A part of supports for holding an anode substrate and a cathode substrate spaced from each other at a predetermined interval is formed so to be conductive and is interposedly arranged between the anode electrode and a lead-out wiring formed on the cathode substrate, to thereby provide an anode lead-out wiring on the cathode substrate. Such construction permits the anode lead-out electrode to be arranged so as to extend in the same direction as a cathode lead-out electrode or a gate lead-out electrode, to thereby facilitate connection of the wirings. Also, the anode substrate can be decreased in size because a region for the anode lead-out wiring is eliminated.

Display device

An airtight envelope for an FED capable of ensuring formation of a gap or internal space therein with high accuracy and preventing leakage thereof and a decrease in display area. An anode substrate having a phosphor-deposited display pattern formed thereon and a cathode substrate having an electron emission source formed thereon are sealed joined to each other using a sealing material, to thereby provide an airtight envelope for an FED. The substrates are provided at a portion thereof joined together with particulate or bar-like elements which are kept unmelted or substantially unsoftened. Also, spacers are arranged at positions in a gap between the anode substrate and the cathode substrate which do not interfere with a display by the FED.

A process for manufacturing a transparent conductive film wiring board capable of being practiced according to a dry procedure to simplify the manufacturing and reduce the manufacturing costs. First, a SiO.sub.2 layer is provided on a substrate and then a black ITO film is formed on the SiO.sub.2 layer. The black ITO film is subject to processing using laser emitted from an output horn, resulting in being cut into a predetermined wiring pattern. Metal evaporated by laser processing is sucked by a vacuum suction head. Then, the substrate is subject to calcination to oxidize and crystallize the black ITO film 3 of the wiring pattern to form a transparent ITO film of the wiring pattern.
