A reflecting member of a vehicle lamp is provided with a top coat layer formed on a silver deposited coat formed on a surface of a synthetic resin base. The top coat layer is made of a transparent acrylic resin which is synthesized with a monomer whose glass transition temperature is 60&#xb0; C. or higher. The top coat layer adheres to the silver deposited coat to suppress the agglomeration of Ag atoms constituting the silver deposited coat.

Vehicle lamp

A vehicular lamp having an improved luminous intensity of reflected light that has passed through a tinted topcoat layer. Light emitted from a light source bulb is reflected by a reflector to form an outward beam. The reflector is formed of an effective reflector portion contributing to formation of the outward beam and a non-effective reflector portion not contributing to formation of the outward beam. Only the non-effective reflector portion or only the non-effective reflector portion and an extension portion are coated with a tinted topcoat layer. The particle diameter of pigments dispersed in the tinted topcoat layer is limited to a certain range.

Vehicular lamp having improved luminance of tinted light

A projection-type headlamp for an automotive vehicle including a projection lens made of glass through which light rays emitted from a discharge lamp bulb are radiated to an outer lens made of a synthetic resin. An ultraviolet absorbing film made solely of zinc oxide is formed on the inner surface of the projection lens, which film prevents discoloration (yellowing) and deterioration (cracking) of the outer lens due to ultraviolet irradiation from the discharge bulb. A protective film is provided over the ultraviolet absorbing film so as to retain the ultraviolet absorbing function of the latter for an extended service period.

Vehicular headlamp having synthetic resin lens with reduced discoloration and cracking from ultraviolet radiation

A vehicle light assembly includes: a lamp body having a mounting groove; and a plastic lens having a fitting part to be fitted into the mounting groove of the lamp body; and a flange portion protruding outwardly on a fore side of the fitting part; and a hard coat film formed over the outer surface of the lens except the rear face of the flange portion and the fitting part.
