The fishing line of the invention characterized in that a body of the fishing line has a first characteristic in which the percentage of initial extension in a tensile force of 2.0 g/d is not lower than 10%, and a second characteristic in which the percentage of extension in a tensile force range of from 2.0 to 4.5 g/d is lower than the initial extension percentage, the percentage of extension at the time of breaking is not higher than 40%, and the breaking strength at the time of breaking is not smaller than 4.5 g/d.
