A temperature controlled heatable object is provided in which a temperature sensor is connected to a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag. The RFID tag is located within the handle of the object, and the temperature sensor is placed in contact with the object. In a first embodiment of the invention, the temperature sensor is partially imbedded within the object via a notch located in the side of the object. In a second embodiment of the invention, a temperature sensor is imbedded within a tunnel drilled within the base of the object. In a third embodiment, a temperature sensor is imbedded between the bottom of the object and a slab attached to the bottom of the object. The sensor can be located in a slot formed in either the slab or the bottom or the object. Handles and receivers for mounting the handles to the temperature controllable objects are also provided.

Radio frequency identification controlled heatable objects

A temperature control interface for a stove top is provided. The temperature control interface includes a numerical temperature setting to which a temperature of an object heated on the stovetop will be regulated for a predetermined period of time. A method of cooking on a stovetop is provided in which a recipe includes a numerical temperature to which a cookware object should be regulated during cooking for a predetermined period of time.

Stovetop interface, system and methods of temperature control of cookware, and methods of cooking using numerical temperature control

A temperature control interface for a stove top is provided. The temperature control interface includes a numerical temperature setting to which a temperature of an object heated on the stovetop will be regulated. A method of cooking on a stovetop is provided in which a recipe includes a numerical temperature to which a cookware object should be regulated during cooking.

A sealed cookware and servingware object, such as a pressure cooker, is provided. The object is temperature and pressure regulated using control technology such as Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology and temperature sensors associated with the objects. In a first embodiment, the temperature sensor is at least partially embedded in the base of the object. In a second embodiment, the temperature sensor extends through a tunnel in a wall of the object and includes a sealing cap to cover the tunnel and prevent air and/or liquid from escaping the interior of the object.

Pressure cooker

Induction heatable cookware and servingware items, and methods and coatings for making induction heatable items are provided. The items of the instant invention are made by applying a ferromagnetic coating to a nonmagnetic item. The ferromagnetic coating is made by grinding or pulverizing a ferromagnetic material, such as steel or iron, into a powder and mixing it with a suitable coating material for the item.

Induction heatable cookware and serving ware, method of making induction heatable items, and coating for making induction heatable items

Components for use in a temperature controlled heatable object are provided in which a temperature sensor is connected to a transmitter such as a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag. The RFID tag is encased in a protective overmolding and connected to the temperature sensor via a mineral insulated cable. An end cap containing a potting material (such as silicone or ceramic) is placed over the temperature sensor and laser welded to a sheathing of the mineral insulated cable. A potting material for use in a heatable object is also provided comprising a silicone-based material that is modified by adding bauxite to increase thermal conductivity.
