According to one embodiment, the light guide plate has a first major surface, a second major surface, a side surface, and a recess. The recess is provided in the second major surface. The fluorescent layer is provided in the recess. The light-emitting element is bonded to the fluorescent layer and includes an electrode on a surface of the light-emitting element on a side opposite to a surface of the light-emitting element bonded to the fluorescent layer. The module side surface includes at least a portion of the side surface of the light guide plate. The first interconnect is provided along the second major surface and connected to the electrode of the light-emitting element. The second interconnect is provided on the module side surface and connected to the first interconnect.

A light emitting device includes: a lightguide plate including a first surface on which a plurality of first recesses are provided; a light-reflective resin layer located on a bottom portion of each first recess; a plurality of light emitting elements each having an upper surface and a lateral surface, wherein each one of the plurality of light emitting elements is arranged in a corresponding one of the plurality of first recesses; and a plurality of wavelength conversion members, wherein: the upper surface of each light emitting element is attached to the light-reflective resin layer; and each of the plurality of wavelength conversion members covers the lateral surface of the light emitting element in the first recess.

Light emitting module and method of manufacturing the same

A light emitting module comprising a light guide plate and a light source. The light guide plate has a polygonal shape with a plurality of corners in a plan view. The light guide plate has a first primary face which serves as an emission face, a second primary face opposing the first primary face, and a recessed portion in the second primary face. The light source is disposed in the recessed portion. The recessed portion has an opening on the second primary face, and a bottom face having a polygonal shape in a plan view. The light source has lateral faces along sides of the bottom face of the recessed portion. In a plan view, diagonal lines connecting opposing corners of the first primary face intersect with the sides of the bottom face of the recessed portion.

Light source and light plate for light emitting module

A surface-emitting light source includes a plurality of light-emitting regions each of which includes light sources, wherein each of the plurality of light-emitting regions can be turned on individually. Each of the light-emitting regions is adjacent to each other and includes a light-guide portion that is provided in adjacent light-emitting regions and covers the light sources, and a light-reflective member disposed below the light-guide portion. The light-reflective member has a first wall portion disposed at the outer periphery of each of the light-emitting regions. The first wall portion includes one or more unit first wall portions each of which corresponds to a respective one of the light sources located at the outer periphery of each of the light-emitting regions. The unit first wall portion located at the two adjacent light-emitting regions has a central portion having a height smaller than a height of both end portions.

Surface emitting light source

A light-emitting module includes a two-dimensional array of a plurality of light-emitting units. Each of the light-emitting units includes a lightguide plate, a light source, and a light diffusing layer. The light guide plate has a first surface and a first hole portion. The first hole portion has at least one lateral surface and an opening at the first surface. The light source is provided at least partially inside the first hole portion. The light source includes a light-emitting element. The light diffusing layer covers part of the at least one lateral surface of the first hole portion.

Provided is a method of manufacturing a light emitting module, the method including: providing a light guiding plate having a first main surface serving as a lighting surface, and a second main surface opposite to the first main surface, the second main surface defining a recess thereon, preparing a light emitting element unit by attaching a wavelength conversion portion to a light emitting element having electrodes and a light emitting surface; providing a light diffusion portion at a bottom of the recess; depositing the light emitting element unit onto the light diffusion portion in the recess; and forming a terminal having an electrical conductivity on the electrodes of the light emitting element.

A light emitting module includes: a light guide plate including a first main surface serving as a light emitting surface, a second main surface provided on a side opposite to the first main surface, and a recess provided at the second main surface; a first fluorescent material layer provided in the recess; a light emitting element provided at the first fluorescent material layer on the second main surface side; and a second fluorescent material layer provided at the second main surface.

An upper face of a light guide includes a projected portion that has a planar face, and a wall portion that surrounds the projected portion, wherein a top part of the wall portion is positioned higher than the planar face. A lower face of the light guide has a recessed portion. A light transmitting part that has a lower refractive index than a reflective index of the light guide is disposed on the projected portion in an area surrounded by the wall portion. A light source is disposed in the recessed portion. The projected portion has an oblique face which is oblique to the planar face and disposed between the planar face and the wall portion. In a plan view of the planar face of the projected portion, the oblique face of the projected portion is positioned outward of a lateral face of the recessed portion at least in part.
