Provided is an ink jet recording method by which even when a recording medium having a relatively small basis weight or a highly water-absorbing recording medium is used, an image can be recorded while the occurrence of cockling is suppressed. The method is an ink jet recording method including recording an image on a recording medium with an ink jet recording apparatus including a blowing portion configured to blow air to the recording medium to dry an aqueous ink. The blowing portion includes conveying members and a blowing device. The conveying members include a first conveying member free of an adsorption mechanism and a second conveying member including an adsorption mechanism in the stated order. The aqueous ink includes a water-soluble organic solvent.

Ink jet recording method and ink jet recording apparatus

An aqueous ink that enables recording of an image with suppressed feathering and has high ejection stability can be provided. An aqueous ink for ink jet contains a pigment, a polyhydric alcohol derivative and a water-soluble organic solvent. The polyhydric alcohol derivative is a compound in which a proportion of {Y/(X+Y)}&#xd7;100 (%) where X mole(s) of ethylene oxide group(s) and Y mole(s) of propylene oxide group(s) are added to polyhydric alcohol having three or more hydroxy groups is 55% or more to 95% or less. The water-soluble organic solvent includes a first water-soluble organic solvent having a relative dielectric constant of 10.0 or more to 40.0 or less.

Aqueous ink, ink cartridge and ink jet recording method

An image recording method including the steps of applying an ink containing a coloring material and anionic resin particles to a recording medium, and applying a liquid composition to the recording medium so as to at least partly overlap with an area where the ink is applied, the liquid composition destabilizing a dispersion state of the coloring material or of the anionic resin particles in the ink. The ink contains a trihydric or higher polyhydric alcohol compound having a group formed by substituting a hydrogen atom of a hydroxyl group by a structure represented by &#x2014;R&#x2014;H, where R is an alkyleneoxy group including an ethyleneoxy group, and the number of Rs per molecule is 40 or more and 120 or less when the polyhydric alcohol is a trihydric alcohol and is 12 or more and 400 or less when the polyhydric alcohol is a tetrahydric or higher polyhydric alcohol.

Image recording method, ink, and liquid composition

Provided is an ink jet recording method capable of suppressing deterioration in an ejection property which occurs after a protection layer is eluted by an electrochemical reaction. The ink jet recording method includes using an ink jet recording apparatus having a recording head equipped with a heater, a first protection layer and a second protection layer made of a material such as iridium and a unit of causing an electrochemical reaction with the second protection layer as one of electrodes and an ink-mediated conduction site as the other electrode and ejecting the ink from the recording head to record an image on a recording medium, wherein the ink is an aqueous ink containing a pigment, a resin dispersant for dispersing the pigment and a specified chelating agent.

Provided is an ink jet recording method capable of suppressing deterioration in an ejection property when voltage control of a recording head is performed. The ink jet recording method includes using an ink jet recording apparatus having a recording head equipped with a heater, a first protection layer and a second protection layer made of a metal material, and a unit of applying a voltage with the second protection layer as a cathode and an ink-mediated conduction site as an anode and ejecting the ink from the recording head to record an image on a recording medium, wherein the ink is an aqueous ink containing a component having an anionic group and a soluble metal ion having a standard electrode potential of more than 0 V.

An image-recording method includes applying an ink to a recording medium and applying a liquid composition to the recording medium. The ink contains a pigment, and the liquid composition disturbs the dispersion state of the pigment in the ink. The applied liquid composition at least partially overlaps the area where the ink is applied. The ink contains a resin particle, a water-soluble resin, and at least one surfactant selected from fluorinated surfactants and silicone surfactants. The surfactant content of the ink is 2% by mass or more based on the total mass of the ink, and the mass ratio of the water-soluble resin content to the surfactant content of the ink is 0.3 or more and 3.0 or less.

Image-recording method and ink set

An image recording method including the steps of applying an ink containing a coloring material and anionic resin particles to a recording medium; and applying a liquid composition to the recording medium so as to at least partly overlap with an area where the ink is applied, the liquid composition destabilizing a dispersion state of the coloring material or of the anionic resin particles in the ink. In transfer image recording with the use of an intermediate transfer body whose surface on the side where an intermediate image is to be formed has a polyalkylsiloxane structure, an ink is used that contains at least a pigment, water, a water-soluble organic solvent, and a polyether-modified siloxane compound. Good and poor solvents for the polyether-modified siloxane compound are contained as the water-soluble organic solvent. The content of the polyether-modified siloxane compound in the ink is 3% by mass or more and 20% by mass or less based on the total mass of the ink.

Transfer image recording method and ink

An image recording method includes applying an ink containing a pigment and polymer particles to a region of a recording medium, and applying a liquid composition capable of destabilizing the dispersion of the pigment in the ink to the recording medium so as to cover at least part of the region of the recording medium. The liquid composition contains 6.0% by mass or more of at least one surfactant selected from the group consisting of the compounds expressed by General Formula (1) and the compounds expressed by General Formula (2) relative to the total mass of the liquid composition. The content of the polymer particles in the ink is 1.0% by mass or more relative to the total mass of the ink.

Image recording method

Provided is an image recording method having high transfer efficiency. An image recording method includes an intermediate image-recording step of recording an intermediate image by applying ink to an intermediate transfer body and also includes a transfer step of transferring the intermediate image to a recording medium by heating the intermediate image to a transfer temperature. The ink contains polymer particles having a softening point not higher than the transfer temperature and at least one of a compound represented by Formula (1) and a compound represented by Formula (2).

There is provided an intermediate transfer member for transfer ink jet recording to which inks and coagulants can be satisfactorily applied and that can substantially maintain high water repellency through repetitive transfer. Intermediate transfer member for transfer ink jet recording

An image recording method includes applying an ink containing a pigment in a dispersion to a region of a recording medium, and applying a liquid composition capable of destabilizing the dispersion of the pigment in the ink to the recording medium so as to cover at least part of the region of the recording medium. The ink further contains polymer particles, and at least one surfactant selected from the group consisting of the compounds expressed by General Formula (1) and the compounds expressed by General Formula (2). In the ink, the content of the polymer particles is 3% by mass or more and 20% by mass or less relative to the total mass of the ink, and the mass ratio of the polymer particles to the surfactant is 1 or more and 10 or less.

There is provided an intermediate transfer member for transfer ink jet recording in which formation of cracks on its surface is suppressed and that has good transferability. The intermediate transfer member for transfer ink jet recording includes a surface layer, a buffer layer, and a compression layer, wherein the surface layer, the buffer layer, and the compression layer are formed in that order from the image-forming surface side, a compression modulus (E1) of the surface layer is 300 MPa or more and 10000 MPa or less, a compression modulus (E2) of the buffer layer is 0.5 MPa or more and 30.0 MPa or less, and E1, E2, and a compression modulus (E3) of the compression layer satisfy formula (1) below.(1/10)&#x3e;2&#x3e;3&#x2003;&#x2003;Formula (1)
