An igniter for seismic prospection or for mining applications or for use in the crude oil and natural gas industries is described, including a detonator in which an explosive material, an igniting element and internal wires for initiating the igniting element are arranged, wherein the internal wires lead into a plug which is arranged at one end of the detonator. In order for the user of the igniter to be able to introduce external wires into the plug without having to strip the wires of insulation beforehand, and, in the plug, for the internal wires to be electrically connected to the external wires, without the external wires requiring any plug and socket connector or mating part of a plug and socket connector, the plug is designed as a multifunctional plug.

The invention relates to a packaging for a detonation cord that is used especially for igniting shaped charged perforators in perforation guns utilized in the oil and natural gas industry. According to the invention, the detonation cord is wound on one plane as a flat coil. Also disclosed is a method for examining whether a detonation cord has faulty points. Said method is characterized in that the detonation cord is subjected to an x-ray examination in the packaging before being delivered.

The invention relates to a method and a device for propagating the detonation effect from one detonation cord () to another, whereby the detonation cords () comprise respective boosters () at their ends. The booster of one detonation cord and the booster of the other detonation cord to which the detonation effect should be propagated are arranged with their front faces joining each other. The aim of the invention is to provide a method and a device which allows propagation also under unfavorable conditions while requiring only few individual parts. For this purpose, at least one booster of two adjacent detonation cords is subjected to a force acting in the direction of the other booster, thereby ensuring constant contact of the front faces () of the adjacent boosters.

A perforation gun includes an external gun barrel in the interior of which perforators are located which can be ignited via a fuse extending through the gun barrel and which, after ignition, pierce the gun barrel with perforation holes. A sliding tube or a swellable two-component foam is provided which automatically closes the perforation holes. The swellable two-component foam can be provided in a cartridge located inside the gun barrel and can be broken up by the ignited fuse, thereby allowing foam to escape from the cartridges, allowing it to swell and obliterate the perforation holes. The sliding tube can be displaced after perforation by an adjusting device by at least the diameter of the perforation hole, the sliding tube being located coaxially between the perforators and the gun barrel.
