A glass has a maximum crystallization rate (KG) of at most 0.20 μm/min in a temperature range of 700° C. to 1250° C. and a hydrolytic stability according to a hydrolytic class 1 HGA1 according to ISO 720:1985. In the case of a sample thickness of 2 mm of the glass, a ratio of a minimum transmittance in a wavelength range of 850 nm to 950 nm to a maximum transmittance in a wavelength range of 250 nm to 700 nm is in a range of 1.9:1 to 15:1.

Tube-drawable glass, method for the production and use

A chemically temperable borosilicate glass article has a low boron content and a corresponding NaO content. The articles have good diffusivities and hydrolytical resistance values. When chemically tempered, the borosilicate glass article exhibits a compressive stress CS &#x3e;400 MPa and a penetration depth DoL &#x3e;20 &#x3bc;m. A pharmaceutical primary packaging including the borosilicate glass article is also disclosed.

Borosilicate glass article with low boron content

A method for producing a glass article having high hydrolytic resistance is provided. A glass tube consisting of borosilicate glass and having an AlOcontent of less than 1 weight-%, a ZrOcontent of 2-12 weight-%, and a glass transition temperature Tis reshaped into a glass article and is subsequently subjected to a thermal post-treatment. To reduce the alkali release of the glass article, the glass article is subjected to a treatment temperature of T&#x2265;T+5&#xb0; K over a treatment time of t&#x2265;5 min and is subsequently cooled during the thermal post-treatment.

Method for producing a glass article

Glasses and glass products suitable for pharmaceutical packaging are provided and methods of making and using such glass and glass products are provided. The glasses combine chemical temperability with very good hydrolytic resistance as well as reduced color tinge. The invention also includes methods for the production of such glasses and their uses.
