Compositions and methods for inhibiting dissolution of carbonates in a subterranean formation are provided. In some embodiments, the methods comprise: providing a treatment fluid that comprises a base fluid and a carbonate dissolution inhibiting additive; contacting a portion of a carbonate-bearing subterranean formation with the treatment fluid; and allowing the carbonate dissolution inhibiting additive to chemically interact with the portion of the carbonate-bearing subterranean formation to inhibit dissolution of one or more carbonate minerals in the formation, whereby the susceptibility of at least a portion of the carbonate-bearing subterranean formation to fluid-induced damage is decreased.

Methods of stabilizing carbonate-bearing formations

Lightweight micro-proppant suitable to prop open not only near-wellbore microfractures but also far-field microfractures. Some methods of fracturing and propping may comprise first introducing a pad fluid comprising a lightweight micro-proppant into a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation at a rate and pressure sufficient to create or extend a fracture network in the subterranean formation, wherein the fracture network comprises microfractures. The lightweight micro-proppant comprises a thermoset nanocomposite having a specific gravity of about 0.9 to about 1.4 and having an average diameter of about 0.1 microns to about 50 microns. Then introducing a proppant slurry comprising a macro-proppant into the wellbore penetrating the subterranean formation after introducing the pad fluid forming a proppant pack in the fracture network wherein at least some of the lightweight micro-proppant is located in the microfractures.

Systems and methods for using gellable gravel packing fluids that may comprise polysaccharide gelling agents and gel stabilizers to extend the working temperature range for the polysaccharide gelling agents. Disclosed herein is a degradable diverter material having a urea compound. In particular, the degradable diverter material may be a particulate with each individual particle being a nanocompo site of a urea compound and clay. The degradable diverter material may be introduced into a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation. The degradable diverter material may then be allowed to divert at least a portion of fluid present downhole, the fluid being introduced from the surface or already present dowhole. The degradable diverter material can then be allowed to at least partially degrade.

Proppants comprise crosslinked polymers for treatment of subterranean formations. The proppants may have a particle size less than or equal to 100 microns. A method of treating a subterranean formation includes placing a proppant including a crosslinked polymer in the subterranean formation.
