An implantable medical leads has a conductor that includes one or more metal wires and one or more carbon nanotube wires extending in substantially the same direction as the one or more metal wires. Such conductors may result in less MRI-induced heating at electrodes of leads than conductors that do not contain carbon nanotubes.

The data transducer further includes an insulator conformed to turns of the conductive coil and a core fill deposited within the entire core wherein the core fill is a high-thermal conductivity material. The slider includes an end layer positioned upon the trailing face of the substrate wherein the basecoat has a disc opposing face and is comprised of a material having a coefficient of thermal expansion greater than a coefficient of thermal expansion of the substrate. An air bearing pad is formed solely on the disc opposing face of the end layer. A transducing head is formed in the air bearing pad and exposed at an air bearing surface.
