A method () performed by a wireless device () includes receiving (), from a network node (), a Minimization of Drive Test, MDT, configuration for a master cell group, MCG, and a secondary cell group, SCG. While the wireless device is in an idle state or an inactive state and operating according to a first Radio Access Technology, RAT, the wireless device logs () MDT measurements for the MCG and the SCG based on the MDT configuration. After transitioning from the idle or inactive state to a connected state and after handover from a source cell associated with the first RAT to a target cell associated with a second RAT, the wireless device transmits () at least one MDT report to a target network node associated with the target cell.

Handling of logged minimization drive test configurations in dual connectivity scenario

A wireless device () transmits, to a radio network node (), a radio resource control (RRC) connection request () that requests the establishment, re-establishment, or resumption of an RRC connection (). The RRC connection request () indicates a type of core network to which the wireless device () selects to connect. The request indicates the base station supports a protocol utilizing segmentation for reporting the capability information and the base station receives the capability information in segments, as transmitted by the wireless device.

A method for a handover procedure comprises establishing a connection with a source network node of a first core network; receiving a radio resource control (RRC) message including an information element, wherein the information element indicates a second core network associated with a target network node; applying security parameters based on the second core network indicated in the information element; and performing a handover toward the target network node using the applied security parameters. The method provides an indication in RRC connection reconfiguration procedure to indicate the UE the core network of the target network node, so that the UE may recognize that this is an inter-system handover and apply corresponding security parameters for performing the handover without additional signaling.

Systems, methods, and apparatus for handling communications relating to suspending a user equipment in a radio access network (RAN) are disclosed. An example method includes the user equipment receiving a radio resource control (RRC) release message from a network node. The user equipment determines that the RRC release message includes a suspend configuration field. The user equipment applies delta signalling corresponding to a suspend configuration indicated by the suspend configuration field and transitions to an inactive state.

In one embodiment, a method performed by a WCD comprises receiving one or more segments of a segmented RRC message and determining that an error has occurred before a last segment of the segmented RRC message has been received. The method further comprises, upon determining that the error has occurred before the last segment of the segmented RRC message has been received, performing one or more recovery actions. In this manner, a situation where the WCD combines segments of a first RRC message with segments of a second RRC message is avoided and, hence, errors due to such combining are avoided.

Methods and apparatus for utilizing short transmission time intervals in a wireless communications network

Methods performed by base stations and wireless devices for controlling the transmission and reception of capability information are disclosed. A method performed by a wireless device includes: receiving an indication of one or more protocols that are supported by the network for transmission of capability information; responsive to the wireless device supporting at least one of the one or more protocols for transmission of capability information, selecting a first protocol that is supported by the wireless device from the at least one of the one or more protocols, and transmitting capability information associated with the wireless device to the base station according to the first protocol.
