A computer-implemented method for implementing a map calendar graphical user interface (GUI) including content-variable view levels is described herein. The method includes executing a map calendar application to provide a map calendar GUI surfaced on a display. The map calendar GUI includes interactive visualizations of a map calendar that are organized into content-variable view levels that relate to specific units of time. The method also includes displaying, via the surfaced map calendar GUI, interactive visualizations of different content-variable view levels such that non-level-specific calendar content items are displayed with respect to all content-variable view levels that encompass the time fragments corresponding to the non-level-specific calendar content items, while level-specific calendar content items are only displayed with respect to one or more content-variable view levels to which the level-specific calendar content items have been specifically linked, as determined by one or more user inputs.

A computer-implemented method for translating time between calendar systems is described herein. The method includes accessing a first tree structure for a first calendar system, where data corresponding to the first tree structure include time intervals for the first calendar system that are arranged into layers of nodes, and where the layers of nodes are mapped to universal time. The method also includes scheduling a calendar content item corresponding to a time fragment relative to the universal time. The method further includes translating the calendar content item to a first human-readable time fragment for the first calendar system by traversing the first tree structure corresponding to the first calendar system to convert the time fragment to the first human-readable time fragment based on the mapping of the layers of nodes of the first tree structure to the universal time.

A computer-implemented method for implementing a map calendar application and corresponding map calendar GUI that provide time mold functionality is described herein. The method includes executing the map calendar application to provide the map calendar GUI surfaced on a display. The map calendar GUI includes an interactive visualization of a map calendar, which includes a continuous, manipulable sequence of calendar content data corresponding to calendar content items that are organized based on units of time within a coordinate plane. The method also includes categorizing the calendar content items based on time categories corresponding to the calendar content items and identifying time patterns corresponding to the categorized calendar content items. The method further includes generating a time mold of the map calendar based on the identified time patterns and visually overlaying the time mold onto corresponding calendar content items within the interactive visualization.

A method that enables time as data is described herein. The method includes constructing a tree structure, wherein data of the tree structure is a plurality of time intervals, and layers of the tree below a root node comprise identical sibling nodes for layers above a threshold interval length and parent nodes share identical sibling nodes. The method also includes assigning a node identification to each node of the tree structure, wherein each node of the tree structure corresponds to a time interval, and traversing the tree structure to convert a timestamp to a human readable time.

An apparatus for a real-time collaboration in calendar is described herein. The apparatus includes a state change module to receive a change notification at a second calendar client rendering a shared calendar. The apparatus also includes an identification module to retrieve an identification (ID) of calendar content, a change in a user interface state, and an extent of a calendar view from a first data structure. Finally, the apparatus includes a replica module of the second client to retrieve calendar content from a second data structure using the ID as an index value.

Representative embodiments disclose intelligent help systems that monitor user interactions through email, digital assistants, and other applications and recognize when a user can utilize the help of an expert with a task. The system detects user intent and a category of problem from the interactions (i.e., email communications, etc.) and searches a database of user profiles to find experts with the proper expertise to help the user with the category of problem. User intent can be detected by parsing communications, extracting features from the communications, and using the extracted features to identify intent, such as through matching or machine learning. A social score and an expertise score are calculated for expert profiles from the database. The social score is based on a degree of separation and expert and the expertise score is based on a level of expertise. Experts and areas of commonality are presented to the user.

Embodiments are provided that include the use of an underlying grid structure as part of managing table operations and/or animation visualizations, but are not so limited. A method of an embodiment uses an underlying grid structure as part of an animation control reference or guide to provide table visualizations for display, including using one or more table borders and aspects of a reference grid column or row as part of controlling table features. A system of one embodiment includes a table manager to manage table actions and a grid manager to manage an underlying grid structure based in part on associated table actions and/or animations. Given an electronic message or series of messages with varying visual styles applied to message text and other content, the electronic message may be transformed with a normalized and consistent formatting style that is more pleasing to the recipient, while preserving the sender's discernible intent in stylizing the message.

Efficient creation of a new schedule item is provided. Aspects include a quick create system for enabling an efficient schedule item creation experience when utilizing a scheduling application, such as a calendar application, a task list application, or a to-do list application, or an application with scheduling functionalities. A user can select a quick create option to cause a display of one or more icons designating predefined or learned schedule item types, which can be automatically or selectively moved to a desired timeslot in the user's schedule. In some examples, an icon can be dragged laterally within a timeslot to toggle between schedule item types. When a commitment input is received, a new schedule item is inserted into the user's schedule, and schedule item details are automatically populated into the schedule item based on existing schedule items or based on preset schedule item types.

Techniques for an electronic montage system are described. An apparatus may comprise a logic device arranged to execute a montage application comprising an authoring component operative to provide a presentation surface having multiple presentation tiles, receive control directives to associate content files with presentation tiles, generate tile objects for the content files based on content file types for the content files, and store the presentation surface and tile objects as a montage. Techniques for electronic aggregation of information

Transitioning of a command user interface (UI) between a toolbar UI and a full menu UI based on a use context is provided. An application such as a messaging application detects a request to interact with a message. A presentation mode is identified based on the use context associated with the request. The use context includes a reading mode or an authoring mode. A command UI is generated based on the presentation mode. The command UI includes a toolbar UI for the reading mode or a full menu UI for the authoring mode. The command UI is displayed in proximity to the message within a messaging UI.

Technologies are described for modification of conversation presentation for enhanced user experience. Parts of the conversation may be detected and analyzed for their properties such as who sent a message, who received, when, was anyone left out from or added to the conversation, etc. The extracted properties and analyzed information may then be used to reverse a chronological order of the conversation and present it using interactive features such as collapsing and expanding parts of the presented information, providing a summary, removing unnecessary content, and comparable features.
