Decorative anatomical image jewelry item

A method and system for creating an article of jewelry that contains an anatomical image using a digital image of an anatomical body part such as a fingerprint, handprint, footprint, or the like to create a computer numeric controlled (CNC) software program that drives a machine for producing a wax model of the anatomical image. The wax model is used in a lost wax casting process to create a casting that is used in an article of jewelry. The present invention further provides an article of jewelry containing a novel bail assembly for attaching the article of jewelry to a chain or the like in an aesthetically pleasing manner that hides the attachment hole of the casting.

An integral ring which is contains at least 35 weight percent of a precious metal selected from the group consisting of silver and gold and has a porosity of less than 0.1 percent, a Vickers pyramidal hardness of at least about 120, and a tensile strength at least about 60,000 pounds per square inch. The ring has an inner diameter of from about 0.55 to about 0.93 inches, and outer diameter of from about 0.61 to about 1.09 inches, a thickness of from about 0.03 to about 0.08 inches, and a circumference of from about 1.7 to about 3.5 inches. Disposed about and extending around the entire outer surface of the ring is a first annular groove and a second, spaced apart annular groove, and at least 10 adjoining recessed areas are disposed between and communicate with these annular grooves. Each of the first annular groove and the second annular groove has a width of from about 0.01 to about 0.02 inches and a depth of from about 0.008 to about 0.018 inches. Disposed between the adjoining recessed areas are at least about 10 raised indicia.

Ring

An apparatus for gripping a bar supported for rotation by a numerically controlled lathe. The apparatus contains two jaws and a gripper cam pivotally attached to each jaw; springs attached to the jaws tend to rotate the gripper cams away from the jaws. A device is provided for moving the jaws together, moving the jaws apart, and locking the jaws into a fixed position.

The alloy comprises 28-35% copper, 19.5-22.5% silver, 6-11% palladium, 22-32% zinc, 0.1-1% aluminum, and 0.5-3% platinum.

Tarnish resistant gold colored alloy

A gold based alloy containing gold, silver, copper, zinc, silicon, iron, boron, nickel and indium for the manufacture of gold articles is described which has a lower melting point, extended remelting capabilities, high resistance to cracking, improved color consistency and increased ductility.
