An aqueous liquid acidic hard surface cleaning composition having a pH of about 2-4 which necessarily comprises: an acid constituent, which is preferably an organic acid constituent, and especially preferably acetic acid, at least one nonionic surfactant, and especially preferably wherein the nonionic surfactants are derived from Guerbet alcohols; an organic solvent constituent which comprises at least one glycol ether solvent, preferably a glycol ether solvent; a sequestering polymer constituent; optionally a cosurfactant constituent, including one or more anionic, cationic, amphoteric or zwitterionic surfactants; optionally one or more further constituents selected coloring agents, fragrances and fragrance solubilizers, viscosity modifying agents including one or more thickeners, pH adjusting agents and pH buffers including organic and inorganic salts, optical brighteners, opacifying agents, hydrotropes, abrasives, and preservatives, as well as other optional constituents known to the art; and the balance, water, wherein water comprises at least 80% wt. of the composition.

Hard surface cleaning compositions

An article for sequential dispensing of vapors, notably evaporable fragrances, comprises separated first and second liquids (). Liquid () issues first. Its evaporation may be assisted by a wick (). The simultaneous evaporation of the second liquid is prevented by an intermediate liquid phase (). As liquid () issues the liquid levels change and there comes a point at which the intermediate phase can no longer prevent the second liquid () from flowing past it, to the region from which it can be evaporated. Solids, especially gels, may be employed instead of liquids ().

The present invention provides a cleaning composition comprising a multiple emulsion system, wherein said emulsion system comprises at least two active ingredients separated in the emulsion system by an oily or aqueous phase. Multiple emulsion hard surface cleaning compositions

A liquid cleaning composition and a solid state catalyst are provided in combination. The solid state catalyst causes a chemical reaction in the liquid cleaning composition, when the liquid cleaning composition is brought into contact with it. The chemical reaction may increase the oxidising power of the liquid cleaning composition, or change its pH, or cause gas evolution, or release heat.

Der-f and/or Der-p dust mite allergens are deactivated by a liquid composition comprising one or more of the following deactivants: i) cedarwood oil, ii) hexadecyltrimethylammonium chloride, iii) aluminium chlorohydrate, iv) 1-propoxy-propanol-2, v) polyquaternium-10 vi) silica gel, vii) propylene glycol alginate, viii) ammonium sulphate, ix) hinokitiol, x) L-ascorbic acid, xi) immobilised tannic acid, xii) chlorohexidine, xiii) maleic anhydride, xiv) hinoki oil, xv) a composite of AgCl and TiO, xvi) diazolidinyl urea, xviii) a compound of formula I xix) the compound of formula II xx) a polymeric dialdehyde containing two or more of a recurring unit of the formula III where n=2 to 200, xxi) urea, xxii) cyclodextrin, xxiii) hydrogenated hop oil, xxiv) polyvinylpyrrolidone, xxv) N-methylpyrrolidone, xxvi) the sodium salt of anthraquinone, xxvii) potassium thioglycolate, and xxviii) glutaraldehyde. Deactivants (i) to (xx) are effective against allergens derived from both species. Deactivants (xxi) to (xxvi) are effective against only Der-f allergens. Deactivants (xxvii) and (xxviii) are effective against only Der-p allergens.

Deactivants for dust mite allergens

A powder charging and delivery device which comprises a receptacle having a neck portion, the receptacle containing particles of a material which can be electrostatically charged and the receptacle having a reticulated, open pore, foam material disposed within the neck thereof, whereby as the particles are dispensed from the container they travel through the pores of the reticulated foam material and thereby become electrostatically charged.

Cleaning compositions including a photocatalytic material and a sensitiser employ a photocatalytic material and a sensitiser at a locus, for example on a surface. The residue combats soils and/or undesired microorganisms at the locus. The addition of a monohydric or polyhydric alcohol, preferably having humectant properties, gives benefits in terms of smear avoidance on application and soil removal thereafter.

Photocatalytic compositions and methods for use

A method of cleaning household articles entails contacting cleaning water with a container containing a substantially water-insoluble modifying agent able to bind calcium ions. The container is permeable to water and to calcium ions but retains the modifying agent. The container may be a bag, for example of textile or paper.

A dilutable cleaning composition comprises a pH-elevating component and a pH-lowering component, the composition being such that when it is mixed with water the pH-elevating component dissolves or disperses in the water thereby elevating the pH of the water to at least 8.5 and subsequently the pH-lowering component dissolves or disperses in the water, thereby lowering the pH of the water from at least 8.5 to not more than 4. When the water is at the raised pH, the cleaning composition is effective in removing proteinaceous or fatty soiling, and when the composition is at the lowered pH, the composition is effective at removing alkaline waste materials such as limescale. The cleaning composition is particularly suitable for use as a lavatory or hard surface cleaner.

Dilutable cleaning compositions and their uses

An aqueous cleaning composition for the removal of mould and mildew is provided. The composition includes a water soluble source of chlorine, a surfactant, chitosan and water and has improved anti-fungal activity.

Cleaning compositions containing chitosan salt

A method is provided for deactivating a Der-p and/or Der-f allergen which comprises volatilizing into a space to be treated a deactivating amount of a volatile oil selected from cajeput oil (tea tree oil) or an oil comprising one or more terpene hydrocarbons.
