An optical wavelength multiplexing device includes: a wavelength selective switch including a first input port for receiving an optical signal, a second input port for receiving a monitoring signal, output ports for outputting the optical signal or the monitoring signal, and an adjustment unit that adjusts a level of the optical signal or the monitoring signal at one of the output ports; a measurement unit that measures an output level of the monitoring signal at one of the output ports; and a control unit that specifies an unused output port of the output ports as a monitoring target port; sets a specific adjustment amount to the monitoring target port; outputs the monitoring signal to the monitoring target port; and determines whether the monitoring target port has an abnormality, based on the output level at the monitoring target port and an estimated output level at the monitoring target port.

Optical wavelength multiplexing device, optical transmission device, and abnormality determination method

Each optical transmission device includes a detecting unit, a notifying unit, and a control unit. The detecting unit detects a value of the optical power of each of multiple wavelengths. The notifying unit notifies an optical transmission device at the upstream side of a control frame that includes the value and that includes information that indicates the execution state of the optical power control. The control unit calculates the adjustment level on the basis of the optical power of each of the wavelengths detected by the detecting unit. Furthermore, when the information included in the control frame sent from an optical transmission device at the downstream side indicates that the optical power control is being stopped, the control unit calculates the adjustment level on the basis of the value included in the control frame and executes optical power control by setting the calculated adjustment level to the optical device.

A WDM optical transmission system includes a plurality of optical transmission devices, each of which include a first memory that stores a first control program that controls a dispersion compensation amount in a host device; a processor to execute the first control program; a notification frame transmission circuit that transmits an information indicating a setting value of the dispersion compensation amount and a detection result corresponding to the setting value to another device; a third memory that stores a second control program that calculates a control value of the dispersion compensation amount in the another device; and a control frame transmission circuit that transmits the control value to the another device, wherein the processor executes the second control program when a problem occurs in the another device, and controls the dispersion compensation amount in the host device when a problem occurs in the host device.

A communication device is, in an MPLS network including a first area and a second area, the first area being notified of aggregate route information into which pieces of route information on a plurality of routes are aggregated, and using an LDP for generating an LSP, located in the first area but spans between the first area and the second area and receives a message for generating the LSP using one of the plurality of routes within the second area, wherein the communication device is stored with aggregate route information, pieces of route information and labels, then determines whether the route information in the message is stored or not when receiving the message, and, if not stored, executes a label distribution process if the route specified by the route information is one of the routes aggregated with the stored aggregate route information.
