The present invention is to provide an apparatus for coating an advancing web on a backup roller Using a coating roller, which enables one to measure and control a coating gap between a lip surface of a coating die and the coating roller. The apparatus includes an extended portion which extends outward from each end of a slit portion of the coating die and has a reference surface parallel to the lip surface, the coating die is slidably located on a frame, a distance sensing means is fixed on each side of the coating roller, a distance is measured from the distance sensing means to the surface of the extended portion and the coating gap is controlled by sliding the coating die in a radial direction of the coating roller. Coating material is thereby controllably transferred from the coating roller to the web.

Coating apparatus with coating die

In a coater for applying a liquid onto a surface of a moving object, the coater includes a front edge surface, a back edge surface and a slit, wherein the back edge surface has an entrance edge from which the coating liquid is introduced into a gap between the back edge surface and the surface of the object and an exit edge from which the extruded coating liquid leaves the gap with the movement of the object. The back edge surface further is arranged in relation to the object so as to satisfy following two formulas; 1.0 mm.ltoreq.L.ltoreq.30 mm and 1.8.ltoreq.h/h.sub.0 .ltoreq.3 where L is a length of a contour of the back edge surface projected on the surface of the object between the entrance edge and the exit edge; h is a gap distance at the entrance edge; and h is a gap distance at the exit edge.

Extrusion type coater and coating method

A camera for taking photographs by voice recognition operations. The camera comprises a microphone through which voiced command words of an operator are registered in a computer as a form of digital data. The computer identifies the same voiced command words in accordance with the registered data and operates the intended functions of the camera. The camera indicates the functioning of the computer for the registration and the recognition of the voiced command words with a display device so that the operator can confirm his operations on the camera.

A camera for taking photographs by voice recognition operations. A method for taking a photograph with a camera having a flash light exposure, a natural light exposure, and an automatic selection where the camera can automatically select the flash or natural light exposure, depending upon photographic conditions. This method comprises the steps of determining distances from the camera to objects in a photographic view, detecting luminances of those objects, and activating the camera for taking a photograph of some of the objects with a flash light exposure and of others of the objects with a natural light exposure when the distances and the luminances of the objects are in a certain condition.

Method for slow synchro-flash photography

An automatic patrone loading camera includes a patrone chamber, a rotating shaft, a detector, and a control section. The patrone chamber houses a patrone. A film is inserted in the patrone in the winding shaft direction while the film is wound around the outer surface of the patrone. When the patrone is housed in the patrone chamber, the rotating shaft is engaged with a winding shaft of the patrone so as to rotate the winding shaft. The detector detects an extracted state of a leader portion of the film. The control section controls a rotating direction of the rotating shaft on the basis of a detection value from the detector.
