A monitoring camera includes an image capturing unit configured to capture an image of a subject, the image capturing unit having an image capturing field angle adjustable by a zooming optical system, and a light source having a light emitting diode configured to emit an illuminating radiation. The camera further includes a lens unit configured to apply the illuminating radiation in a direction which is substantially identical to a direction in which the image capturing unit captures the image, and an irradiation moving unit configured to variably set an irradiation range of the illuminating radiation to irradiate an area which is substantially the same as the image capturing field angle of the image capturing unit.

Monitoring camera

The present invention is a laser system including a DFB laseremitting a laser light, a semiconductor optical amplifierthat modulates an intensity of the laser light, and a harmonic generation elementthat converts the laser light modulated to a visible lightthat is a harmonic of the laser light. According to the present invention, it is possible to employ the highly efficient harmonic generation element capable of modulating the intensity of the laser light and to reduce power consumption.

Laser system

In a monitoring system for monitoring parking of a vehicle in a specific area by a monitoring image pick-up device, and a monitoring apparatus, the monitoring image pick-up device includes an image pick-up portion. And the monitoring apparatus includes: a parking area enter/exit determining portion for determining whether or not a vehicle enters or exits from the specific area; an imaging setting change instructing portion for instructing the image pick-up portion to change an imaging setting to another one suitable for capturing a vehicle image containing specific information on the vehicle when it is determined that the vehicle enters or exits from the area; and a parking determining portion for calculating a time for which the vehicle is parked in the area from image capturing time when the vehicle enters the area, and image capturing time when the vehicle exits from the area.

Monitoring system, monitoring apparatus and monitoring method

There is provided a camera unit used in a communications system having a display section and arranged to exchange sound and images via communication between at least two locations. The camera unit includes a camera section having an image sensor for photoelectrically converting a visual image to an electric signal; a transparent filter section having signal lines for supplying power to the camera section and transferring the image signal supplied thereto from the camera section; a frame section for holding the transparent filter section therein, the frame section having a power input terminal for supplying power to the camera section and a video output terminal for outputting the image signal transferred thereto from the camera section; and attaching members for attaching the frame section holding the transparent filter section therein, to a front surface of a display screen of the display section of the communications system.

An embodiment of the invention provides an image pickup apparatus to which a zoom lens having a variable imaging angle of view is mounted, including: a dynamic body detecting portion for detecting a dynamic body from an image signal obtained by capturing an image; a motion vector detecting portion for detecting a motion vector representing an amount of motion per unit time of the dynamic body detected by the dynamic body detecting portion; a comparing portion for comparing the motion vector detected by the motion vector detecting portion with a reference value; and a control portion for adjusting a set value for an angle of view of the zoom lens based on a comparison result obtained in the comparing portion.

Image pickup apparatus and imaging method for automatic monitoring of an image

It is difficult to simplify the structure of a video camera system having various adjusting functions. Therefore, the video camera system has an information-obtaining-region setting function for setting an information-obtaining region in a screen according to the output of an image pickup device, an information-obtaining-region moving function for moving an information-obtaining region in the screen every predetermined cycle of the output of the image pickup device, an information-obtaining function for obtaining predetermined information-obtaining-region information based on the output of the image pickup device in the information-obtaining region every predetermined cycle, and control information generating function for generating control information in accordance with the obtained-region information obtained by an information-obtaining means.

Video camera system

A video camera apparatus having a solid state imager for generating video signals and a black level balance adjusting circuit for automatically adjusting black levels of the video signals. The video camera apparatus comprises an incident light control device, an electronic shutter control circuit, a comparator and a processor. The incident light control device controls the amount of light incident to the solid state imager. The electronic shutter control circuit varies the mode of the solid state imager between at least a first mode and a second mode. The effective accumulating period of the solid state imager in the first mode is different from the corresponding period in the second mode. The comparator compares the voltage level of the video signal obtained in the first mode with that obtained in the second mode. The processor controls the electronic shutter control circuit and the comparator, and activates the black level balance adjusting circuit when the voltage levels of the video signals obtained in the first and the second modes are substantially the same.
