An exhaust gas-purifying system includes an exhaust gas-purifying unit that includes one or more exhaust gas-purifying catalysts, is supplied with the exhaust gas from a combustion engine, and purifies the exhaust gas so that the exhaust gas can be released to the atmosphere, a sensor that detects a concentration of nitrogen oxides contained in the purified exhaust gas, and a processing section that makes a judgment with respect to at least one of the exhaust gas-purifying catalysts, as to whether or not a performance is maintained at a sufficient level, based on the concentration detected by the sensor.

Exhaust gas-purifying system and automotive vehicle

An exhaust gas purification catalyst is provided for which a purification performance is excellent and particle growth of a catalyst metal is suppressed. The exhaust gas purification catalyst is provided with a substrate and a catalyst layer formed on the substrate. The catalyst layer contains a catalyst metal that functions as an oxidation and/or reduction catalyst and contains a support that supports the catalyst metal. The support is constituted of a porous ceramic that, in its volumetric pore diameter distribution measured based on a nitrogen gas adsorption method, has a pore diameter Pcorresponding to a cumulative 10% from a small pore side and a pore diameter Pcorresponding to a cumulative 90% from the small pore side that are both in a range from 5 to 50 nm.

Oxidation catalyst device for exhaust gas purification

An exhaust gas purifying catalyst includes an inlet-side catalyst layer formed on an inner side of the partition wall from a surface of the partition wall in contact with an inlet-side cell and formed along an extension direction from an end portion on the exhaust gas inflow side, and an outlet-side catalyst layer formed on the inner side of the partition wall from a surface of the partition wall in contact with an outlet-side cell and formed along the extension direction from an end portion on the exhaust gas outflow side. Here, a sum of the lengths of the inlet-side catalyst layer and the outlet-side catalyst layer is larger than the entire length of the partition wall, and a total amount of an SCR catalyst body present in the outlet-side catalyst layer is larger than a total amount of an SCR catalyst body present in the inlet-side catalyst layer.

Exhaust gas purifying catalyst

An exhaust gas purification material according to the present invention is provided with a particulate filterthat traps particulate matter in exhaust gas and contains an SCR catalyst for adsorbing ammonia and reducing NOx in the exhaust gas. A maximum allowable adsorption amount of ammonia adsorbable by the filterdiffers between an upstream portionof the filterincluding an exhaust gas inlet-side end, and a downstream portionof the filterincluding an exhaust gas outlet-side end. Exhaust gas purification material

The present invention provides an exhaust gas purification catalyst provided with: a substrate of wall flow structure in which inlet cells and outlet cells are partitioned by porous partition walls; and a catalyst layer disposed at least inside the partition wall and including a catalyst body. The catalyst layer satisfies the following conditions: (1) the pore volume of pores no larger than 5 &#x3bc;m, as measured in accordance with a mercury intrusion technique, is 24000 mmor greater per L of volume of the substrate; and (2) a permeability coefficient measured by a Perm porometer is 0.6 &#x3bc;mto 4.4 &#x3bc;m.

Exhaust gas purification device having a catalyst layer including an Rh&#x2014;Ba-loaded catalyst, and a Pt/Pd&#x2014;Ba-loaded catalyst. Exhaust gas purification device

An exhaust gas purification material according to the present invention is provided with a particulate filter that traps particulate matter in exhaust gas and contains an SCR catalyst for adsorbing ammonia and reducing NOx in the exhaust gas. A maximum allowable adsorption amount of ammonia adsorbable by the filter differs between an upstream portion of the filter including an exhaust gas inlet-side end, and an downstream portion of the filter including an exhaust gas outlet-side end. A maximum allowable adsorption amount of ammonia A in the upstream portion is smaller than a maximum allowable adsorption amount of ammonia B in the downstream portion (A&#x3c;B).

The exhaust gas purification apparatus is provided with: an upstream catalyst section which is disposed on the upstream side of an exhaust pipe; a downstream catalyst section which is disposed on the downstream side of the exhaust pipe with respect to the upstream catalyst section; and reducing agent solution supplier that supplies a reducing agent solution for generating ammonia from the upstream of the upstream catalyst section. The upstream catalyst section and the downstream catalyst section each include a SCR catalyst constituted by a zeolite, which adsorbs ammonia and reduces NOin the exhaust gas. The skeleton density (A) of the SCR catalyst included in the upstream catalyst section is less than the skeleton density (B) of the SCR catalyst included in the downstream catalyst section (A&#x3c;B).

Exhaust gas purification apparatus

The object of the present invention is to provide a novel exhaust gas purifying catalyst having excellent NOx purification performance. The object can be achieved by an exhaust gas purifying catalyst comprising: a substrate; and a catalyst layer disposed on the substrate which comprises a first carrier, and platinum and a first palladium supported on the first carrier; in which the weight ratio of the platinum to the first palladium is 3:1 to 8:1.

To provide a filter catalyst in which the closure of ventilation holes by a catalytic layer is inhibited. A filter catalyst of the present is characterized in that, in a filter catalyst comprising: a catalyst-support substrate; and a catalytic layer; an SEM photograph on a cross section of the filter catalyst is turned into electronic data so that, in a processed image in which image processing is performed to the SEM photograph, a ratio of a number of pixels forming an outer periphery of the catalytic layer to a number of pixels forming the catalytic layer is 0.5 or more. An analyzing method of the present invention finds a ratio a number of pixels forming an outer periphery of the catalytic layer to a number of pixels forming the catalytic layer by performing image processing to a cross section of the filter catalyst. The filter catalyst of the present invention has an effect of being capable of inhibiting the rise of pressure loss when sufficient particulates deposit. Moreover, the analyzing method of the present invention can analyze the uniformity of the catalytic layer of the filter catalyst.

Filter catalyst and method of analyzing a catalytic layer thereof

A filter catalyst of the present invention is comprised of a catalyst-supporting substrateand catalytic portionsfor purifying an exhaust gas. The catalytic portions includes the first catalytic portionfor purifying HC, CO and NO, and the second catalytic portionfor purifying the particulates. The first catalytic portionis formed on a surface of at least a portion of the cellular walland the second catalytic portionis formed on an inside surface of the pores. In the filter catalyst of the present invention purifying ability of the exhaust gas is increased, and the filter catalyst of the present invention can suppress rise of the pressure loss of the exhaust gas.

Filter catalyst

To provide a process for producing a filter catalyst which can produce a filter catalyst in which the closure of ventilation holes by a catalytic layer is inhibited. A process for producing a filter catalyst according to the present invention is characterized in that, in a process for producing a filter catalyst, the process comprising: a step of preparing a coating slurry in which an inorganic oxide powder is dispersed, and coating the coating slurry onto a catalyst-support substrate composed of a porous material having a plurality of cells extending in the axial direction; a step of removing the coating slurry in excess from the catalyst-support substrate with the coating slurry coated; and a step of drying-calcining the coating slurry; the removing of the coating slurry in excess is carried out by performing the following steps repeatedly: a step of holding one of the axial opposite ends of the catalyst-support substrate and another axial opposite end thereof in such a state that a pressure difference is given therebetween; and a step of holding the one of the opposite ends of the catalyst-support substrate and the other opposite end thereof in an identical pressure state. The present production process can produce a filter catalyst in which sufficient ventilation property is secured so that it has come not to induce the rise of pressure loss.

Process for producing a filter catalyst

To provide a filter catalyst in which the closure of ventilation holes by a catalytic layer is inhibited. A filter catalyst of the present invention is characterized in that it has pores of 1-20 &#x3bc;m in a porosity of 11% or more. The filter catalyst of the present invention has an effect of being capable of inhibiting the rise of pressure loss when sufficient particulates deposit.
