Provided is a saddled vehicle capable of optimizing distribution of a braking force between front and rear wheels at the time of deceleration during linear traveling, before entering a corner, and in a similar situation. A saddled vehicle () includes: a front wheel braking component () that applies a braking force to a front wheel (WF); and a rear wheel braking component () that applies a braking force to a rear wheel (WR), and is configured to operate the front wheel braking component () and the rear wheel braking component () in an interlocking manner in response to an operation of an operating element () as a single operating element. In response to the operation of the operating element (), the front wheel braking component () first starts operating, and thereafter, in response to a braking condition of the front wheel braking component () satisfying a first condition, the rear wheel braking component () starts operating. In response to satisfaction of the first condition, the braking force of the rear wheel braking component () is increased while the braking force of the front wheel braking component () is maintained at a first front-wheel-braking force (P1).

In this brake control device for a motorcycle, a deceleration threshold value calculation unit limits target wheel deceleration to a threshold value or less on the basis of a bank angle estimated by a bank angle calculation unit. Thus, the behavior of the vehicle body during turning of the motorcycle can be made more stable so as not to cause discomfort to a driver.

A vehicle rear wheel lift tendency judgment device: includes a first deceleration obtaining device for obtaining a first deceleration along a first straight line, being a component in a first direction of an acceleration on a center of gravity, and a second deceleration obtaining device for obtaining a second deceleration along a second straight line, being a component in a second direction of the acceleration; judges that a rear wheel tends to be lifted, when the first deceleration is greater in the first direction than a first threshold, or when the second deceleration is greater in the second direction than a second threshold; and performs at least one of setting for shifting the first threshold in a direction opposite to the first direction and setting for shifting the second threshold in a direction opposite to the second direction, when a second-deceleration change rate being a change amount in the second deceleration per unit time becomes greater in the second direction than a change-rate threshold, enabling a quick judgment of a rear wheel lift tendency.

Vehicle rear wheel lift tendency judgment device

A hydraulic modulator including a motor having a motor housing, a stator, a rotor, and a motor shaft. A power transmitting mechanism is provided for transmitting the power of the motor to the outside thereof. A master cylinder includes a piston linearly movable by the power transmitted by the power transmitting mechanism. The master cylinder is arranged so as to overlap the motor housing in such a manner that the axis of the master cylinder is substantially perpendicular to the axis of the motor shaft. The master cylinder is arranged on one side of the motor housing in the range corresponding to the axial length of the motor shaft. The length of the hydraulic modulator along the motor shaft falls within the axial length of the motor shaft, so that the hydraulic modulator can be reduced in size.

Hydraulic modulator

A brake device for a vehicle includes a brake pedal rotatably supported on a support shaft and extending in a front ward direction from the support shaft in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. A master cylinder is located on the rear side of the support shaft in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle for generating a braking hydraulic pressure according to the rotational operation of the brake pedal. An operational amount detector is mechanically connected to the brake pedal for detecting the rotational amount of the brake pedal. The master cylinder includes an axis that is arranged vertically and is located above the support shaft with the operational amount detector being located on the rear side of the support shaft in the longitudinal direction of the motorcycle. Thus, the master cylinder and the operational amount detector can be densely arranged in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle.

Brake device for motorcycle

A vehicle final reduction gear unit includes a first friction brake positioned between a right case member which is a stationary body and a differential case which is a rotating body for applying a pressing force in an axial direction to generate a frictional force in order to put a brake on the differential case. A second friction brake occupies an area between the differential case and the right wheel and applies a pressing force in the axial direction to generate a frictional force in order to use a rotational difference to put the differential mechanism into a lock state. The second friction brake is placed within the radius of the first friction brake. A reduced size is accomplished and the final reduction gear unit can be reduced in length in the vehicle-transverse direction. Thus, a vehicle final reduction gear unit allowing a reduction in size can be provided.

Vehicle final reduction gear unit

A brake disc guard is provided inside of a rim of a front wheel and mounted on a knuckle. A caliper is located in a cutout portion formed at a front portion of the brake disc guard. The caliper is supported through a caliper bracket to the knuckle. A large-diameter portion is formed at an upper front end portion of the brake disc guard. The large-diameter portion extends so as to cover the upper side of the caliper bracket and the caliper. A scraper is formed at the front end of the large-diameter portion so as to be bent radially outwardly. The spacing a between the rim and the scraper is set to be the smallest. The dirt deposited on the rim is scraped off by the scraper, so that the dirt separated from the rim is prevented from falling onto the caliper.

Brake device

A braking system includes first and second electromagnetic opening valves and a bleeding mode setting unit. The first electromagnetic opening and closing valve is provided to a first brake fluid channel to communicate or block a first fluid pressure from a master cylinder to a wheel brake. The second electromagnetic opening and closing valve is provided to a second brake fluid channel to communicate or block a second fluid pressure from a power unit to the wheel brake. The bleeding mode setting unit is provided to set a bleeding mode in which each of the first and second electromagnetic opening and closing valves is opened and closed in order to perform an air-bleeding from each of the first and second brake fluid channels. The determining unit is provided to determine whether or not the bleeding mode setting unit is allowed to set the bleeding mode.

Braking system

A brake caliper structure of a straddle seat off-load vehicle includes a brake caliper having a caliper bracket, a caliper assembly connected to the caliper bracket by two connecting portions so that the caliper assembly can move relative to the caliper bracket to clamp a brake disc. One connecting portion includes a slide pin connected to the caliper assembly and slidably received in a guide hole in the caliper bracket for effectively guiding movement of the caliper assembly relative to the caliper bracket, and the other connecting portion includes a connecting screw as a fixed pin secured to the caliper bracket, and a rubber bushing as an elastic member disposed between the caliper assembly and the fixed pin for taking up the tilting of the brake disc.

Brake caliper structure of straddle seat off-road vehicle

A brake caliper support structure and a brake caliper structure for a saddle-ride type all terrain vehicle can attain a reduction in size and weight of a disc brake and can scrape off mud and snow accumulated within a wheel. A distance from a point which represents the center of a front wheel to each of points which represent the axes of bolts located at the same positions as the caliper support portions or the first and second mounting portions of the caliper bracket is set longer than the distance from the point to a point which represents the center of a piston. A brake hose is to be prevented from undergoing an excessively large deflection during steering or during vehicular vibration.

Seat mount structure for saddle ride type vehicle

A saddle ride type all-terrain vehicle includes left and right front wheels supported independently of each other on a vehicle body such that driving power is transmitted to said front wheels by way of a pair of left and right drive shafts extending from a driving source side. The vehicle also includes universal couplings provided at opposite end portions of each of the drive shafts, covered by rubber boots. The vehicle further includes a protector for covering the rubber boots.
