A lower rail or an upper rail has a first wall provided at a position on a first one of opposite sides in a widthwise direction thereof, and a second wall provided at a position on the other, second, side in the widthwise direction and disposed opposed to the first wall. Disclosed is a slide locking mechanism for a seat, which comprises at least five locking pieces, a plurality of first latch portions and a plurality of second latch portions. An opening width of a hole of each of the first latch portions in a longitudinal direction of a lower rail is equal to a width of each of the locking pieces in the longitudinal direction, and an opening width of a hole of each of the second latch portions in the longitudinal direction is greater than the opening width of each of the holes of the first latch portions. The first latch portions and the second latch portions are alternately arranged along the longitudinal direction.

Slide locking mechanism for seat

An automobile seat includes a swinging motion restraint mechanism for restraining a swinging motion of a sub-frame relative to side frames. The swinging motion restraint mechanism includes a swing axis mounted on the sub-frame, a swinging motion restraint member rotatably mounted on one of the side frames and having a first contact portion and a second contact portion, both of which are brought into contact with the swing axis one at a time, and an elastic member for biasing the swinging motion restraint member toward the swing axis. In an initial state in which no load is applied to a seat back, the first contact portion of the swinging motion restraint member is held in contact with the swing axis, while when a load greater than a predetermined value is inputted to the seat back in a rearward direction, the sub-frame is caused to swing about a hinge to thereby move a headrest forward, and the second contact portion of the swinging motion restraint member is brought into contact with the swing axis, thereby holding the headrest at a position after the movement.

Automobile seat capable of avoiding whiplash injury

A seat reclining mechanism comprises a guide bracket, and an internal gear member coupled to the guide bracket in a rotatable manner about a rotation axis thereof with respect to the guide bracket. A forwardmost-inclination stopper protrusion and a rearwardmost-inclination stopper protrusion are provided on either one of the guide bracket and the internal gear member. A stopper plate is fixed to a remaining one of the guide bracket and the internal gear member. The stopper plate has a forwardmost-inclination stopper portion adapted to be brought into contact with the forwardmost-inclination stopper protrusion when a seat back is at a forwardmost inclined position, and a rearwardmost-inclination stopper portion adapted to be brought into contact with the rearwardmost-inclination stopper protrusion when the seat back is at a rearwardmost inclined position.

Seat reclining mechanism

Disclosed is a seat reclining mechanism, which is designed to be mounted to a seat cushion and a seat back so as to allow the seat back to be reclined. The seat reclining mechanism comprises a guide bracket and an internal gear member coupled to the guide bracket in a rotatable manner about a rotation axis thereof with respect to the guide bracket and formed with internal teeth along a circle having a center on the rotation axis. A plurality of lock gear members is disposed between the guide bracket and the internal gear member. A fitting portion is provided in either one of the guide bracket and the internal gear member. A rotatable cam is rotatably supported by the fitting portion.

A seat reclining mechanism comprises a plurality of lock gear members. One of the plurality of lock gear members has a protrusion which protrudes toward an internal gear member. The internal gear member has a first free-zone arc portion formed along a circle having a center on a rotation axis and adapted to allow the protrusion to be in contact therewith when the lock gear members are located at a position where external teeth of each of lock gear members are not in meshing engagement with internal teeth of the internal gear, and a second free-zone arc portion formed along the circle to have an arc length different from that of the first free-zone arc portion and adapted to allow the protrusion to be in contact therewith when the lock gear members are located at the position.

Seat structure designed to reduce weight and improve various functions such as impact absorbency, vibration absorbency. A torsion bar arranged along a width direction, and an arm connected to the torsion bar and enforced in a direction of falling backwards in a normal state are provided in the rear of a seat cushion, and a cushioning member is arranged between a supporting frame supported by the arm and a front frame provided at the front of the seat cushion, whose front edge is vertically movable rotationally. When working a pedal or standing up, since the front edge of the front frame is forced to move in a downward direction by a leg portion, a haunch supporting portion of the cushioning member is relatively lifted upward, so that support force to lift up the haunches works.

Seat structure

An automobile seat slide unit includes two slide rail assemblies disposed on respective sides of a seat. Each of the slide rail assemblies has a lower rail to be secured to a vehicle floor and an upper rail to be secured to the seat and slidably mounted on the lower rail for adjusting the position of the seat in a direction longitudinally of a vehicle body. The lower rail has a generally flat bottom wall, two outer side walls extending upwardly from respective side edges of the bottom wall, and two inner side walls extending laterally inwardly and downwardly from respective upper edges of the outer side walls to present a shape generally similar to an inverted figure 'U'. On the other hand, the upper rail has a generally flat upper wall, two inner side walls extending downwardly from respective side edges of the upper wall, and two outer side walls extending laterally outwardly and upwardly from respective lower edges of the inner side walls to present a shape generally similar to the shape of a figure 'U'. The inner side walls of the lower rail are received within respective guide clearances each defined between the inner and outer side walls of the upper rail, while the outer side walls of the upper rail are received within respective guide clearances each defined between the inner and outer side walls of the lower rail. A plurality of spherical members are interposed between the upper and lower rails at lower corners thereof, while a plurality of rollers are interposed between upper edges of the outer side walls of the upper rail and laterally extending portions of the inner side walls of the lower rail.

Automobile seat slide unit

A vehicle seat slide mechanism includes a lower rail and an upper rail slidably mounted on the lower rail for movent relative thereto. The lower rail includes a bottom wall, first and second side walls extending in a direction perpendicular to the bottom wall, first and second top walls extending inwardly from respective top edges of the first and second side walls and terminating spaced a distance from each other, and a dependent wall extending towards the bottom wall from the first top wall. On the other hand, the upper rail includes an upright wall lying perpendicular to the lower rail, a bottom wall generally perpendicular to the upright wall and extending widthwise of the upper rail, and an upturned wall extending upwardly from the bottom wall of the upper rail. First and second plurality of balls are accommodated rollingly within opposite spaces on respective sides of the upper rail to facilitate a smooth movement of the upper rail relative to the lower rail.
