According to one embodiment, a transmission device includes an insertion unit, an allocation unit, a division unit, an IFFT unit, a phase rotation unit, and a transmission unit. The phase rotation unit performs a phase rotation to reduce a PAPR characteristic for each block on which inverse fast Fourier transform has been performed. The transmission unit combines transmission signals, on each of which a phase rotation has been performed by the phase rotation unit, and transmits the combined transmission signal to an external device. In addition, the division unit includes a predetermined band and at least one pilot symbol located outside another of end of this predetermined band on an opposite side of the one end into one block.

Transmission device, reception device, and transmission method

A signal processing device capable of performing a process of reducing peak power without interfering with a transmission signal at a high speed is provided. A signal processing device includes a peak-reduced signal generating device and a band pass filter. The peak-reduced signal generating device divides an input signal having an information component into signal streams for every predetermined number of signals, and generates peak-reduced signal with peak canceling signals on the basis of the signal streams. The peak-reduced signal generating device combines the signal streams which the peak-reduced signals on the basis of an order in which the division into the signal streams has been performed. The band pass filter passes a frequency component corresponding to the information component and rejects a frequency component corresponding to the peak canceling signal with respect to a signal based on a signal from the peak-reduced signal generating device.

Signal processing device

In some embodiments, a wireless communication apparatus may include, but is not limited to, a pilot inserter, a segment divider, a phase rotator, and a first adder. The pilot inserter inserts first and second pilot symbols into a symbol stream. The segment divider divides into a plurality of segments a plurality of subcarriers. Each of the subcarriers is allocated with a respective one of the symbols included in the symbol stream into which the first and second pilot symbols have been inserted. The phase rotator performs, for each segment, a phase rotation to all of the symbols, except for a predetermined one of the first and second pilot symbols, included in the symbol stream. The first adder adds together signals corresponding to the subcarriers included in the plurality of segments to which the phase rotation has been performed by the phase rotator to generate a transmission signal.

Wireless communication apparatus, integrated circuit, transmission method, reception method, and communication method

In some embodiments, a wireless communication apparatus may include, but is not limited to, a segment divider, a reference symbol inserter, a phase rotator, an adder, and a peak-to-average power ratio evaluator. The reference symbol inserter inserts at least one reference symbol having a phase into at least one of the subcarrier segments. The phase rotator performs respective phase rotations to the subcarrier segments, based at least in part on a plurality of different combination patterns, each of the different combination patterns identifying a respective phase rotation to the subcarrier segments. The peak-to-average power ratio evaluator calculates, for each of the plurality of different combination patterns, a peak-to-average power ratio of the transmission signals generated. The peak-to-average power ratio evaluator selects, from the transmission signals, a transmission signal having a smallest peak-to-average power ratio among the plurality of peak-to-average power ratios calculated.

According to an embodiment, a signal processing apparatus includes a first switch, a second switch, a corrector and a circuit. The first switch selects one signal from a first signal group including a first signal and a first constant envelope signal to obtain a first selected signal. The second switch selects one signal from a second signal group including a second signal and a second constant envelope signal to obtain a second selected signal. The corrector corrects a characteristic of at least one of the first and second selected signals to obtain a first corrected signal and a second corrected signal. The circuit generates an output signal from the first corrected signal and the second corrected signal.

Signal processing apparatus

A distortion compensation device compensates a distortion component generated in a nonlinear circuit having a nonlinear input-output characteristic. The distortion compensation device includes a predistorter and an estimator. The predistorter converts an input signal into an inverse characteristic signal by using a compensation coefficient so that an estimation value of an inverse characteristic to the nonlinear input-output characteristic is given to the input signal. The estimator generates the compensation coefficient based on the input signal, the inverse characteristic signal and an output signal of the nonlinear circuit.

Distortion compensation device

Disclosed are a display unit and a data processing system equipped therewith. The display unit includes a liquid crystal module, a rear panel covering the back surface of the liquid crystal module, a front periphery covering member covering a peripheral part of the front surface of the liquid crystal module, and a wiring board for driving the liquid crystal module. The liquid crystal module includes a liquid crystal cell, a light guide panel disposed behind the back surface of the liquid crystal cell, a reflecting panel disposed behind the back surface of the light guide panel, plural LEDs disposed opposite to one end surface of the light guide panel, and a holding frame provided with a spacing part, covering a peripheral part of the back surface of the reflecting panel and holding the liquid crystal cell, the light guide panel, the reflecting panel and the LEDs. The wiring board and the liquid crystal module are contained substantially in a plane in a space between the rear panel and the front periphery covering member.

A display device includes a light source device and an image display panel operable to display an image using light emitted from the light source device. The light source device includes a plurality of series drive circuits each including a predetermined number of series-connected light-emitting diodes, a constant-current circuit outputting a constant amount of current to one of the plural series drive circuits serving as a reference, the plural series drive circuits being connected in parallel with the current output, a current mirror circuit operable to allow the same amount of current to flow through the plural series drive circuits, and a voltage dropping circuit operable to cause a voltage drop of a predetermined level in the series drive circuit serving as the reference, the voltage dropping circuit being disposed in series with the light-emitting diodes forming the series drive circuit serving as the reference.

An information processing apparatus includes a display unit having a first reflective plate and a second reflective plate forming a reflective-plate unit, and a third reflective plate. The first reflective plate is bonded to an external frame, and the second reflective plate is connected to a reflective-plate hinge. In addition, the third reflective plate is pivotally connected-to the reflective-plate hinge, and a diffusion plate is bonded to the third reflective plate. Light emitted from a cold-cathode fluorescent lamp is guided by an optical waveguide and illuminates the entire surface of a liquid crystal panel. In addition, a part of the light is reflected by the second reflective plate, is incident on the diffusion plate bonded to the third reflective plate, is efficiently diffused by the diffusion plate, and uniformly illuminates an operation unit such as a keyboard.

Information processing apparatus

An information processing apparatus includes a display unit having a first reflective plate and a second reflective plate forming a reflective-plate unit, and a third reflective plate. The first reflective plate is bonded to an external frame, and the second reflective plate is connected to a reflective-plate hinge. In addition, the third reflective plate is pivotally connected to the reflective-plate hinge, and a diffusion plate is bonded to the third reflective plate. Light emitted from a cold-cathode fluorescent lamp is guided by an optical waveguide and illuminates the entire surface of a liquid crystal panel. In addition, a part of the light is reflected by the second reflective plate, is incident on the diffusion plate bonded to the third reflective plate, is efficiently diffused by the diffusion plate, and uniformly illuminates an operation unit such as a keyboard.

A portable electronic device including a body, and a display portion which is openably and closably provided with respect to the body, wherein a short battery portion is provided at the back end of the body, and a long battery portion is rotatably provided with respect to the short battery portion; and an electronic device battery. In the electronic device and the electronic device battery, a simple structure for electrically connecting the battery to the body can be used to support the back end of the body of the electronic device above a supporting surface in order to easily tilt the body.

A portable electronic device such as a portable personal computer has a first part such as a main unit incorporating a heat-generating component, e.g., a CPU, a second part such as a display unit, and a connector for pivotally connecting the first and second parts. The connector includes hinges that provide mechanical connection between the first and the second parts, while conducting heat from the heat-generating component in the first part to the second part, so that the heat is dissipated from the second part. The electronic device this has enhanced heat dissipation without being required to have a greater size.

A portable electronic means including a body and a display portion which is openably and closably mounted with respect to the body, and an electronic device battery. The portable electronic means further includes a pair of hinges (opening-and-closing portions) for openably and closably mounting the display portion to the body, with a battery being mechanically and electrically mounted between the pair of hinges so as to be removable therefrom. Disclosed is a hinge for electronic apparatus which is capable of effecting heat dissipation without having to increase the size of the electronic apparatus. Hinges 1A and 1B for electronic apparatus are provided for the purpose of foldably connecting a first portion 2 and a second portion 3 of an electronic apparatus. Each hinge includes a stationary member 11 which has a strength maintaining portion 11a for maintaining mechanical strength and a heat conducting portion 12 for effecting heat conduction and which is provided on the first portion 2, a movable member 17 which has a strength maintaining portion 17a for maintaining mechanical strength and a heat conducting portion 13 for effecting heat conduction and which is provided on the second portion 3, and a joint portion 30 for joining the stationary member 11a and the movable member 17 to each other while effecting heat conduction between the heat conducting portion 11a of the stationary member and the heat conducting portion 13 of the movable member.
