In a display module of the present invention, a light guide plate, having a cross sectional slope with respect to a display surface of a liquid crystal panel, is provided face to face behind the liquid crystal panel. Source TCPs and gate COFs, which are connected to the liquid crystal panel so as to make a right angle with each other, are respectively so extended as to reach to the back surface of the light guide plate. The gate COFs are bent along the slope of the light guide plate so that the gate COFs are so extended as to reach to the back surface of the light guide plate.

An improved flat display apparatus such as a liquid crystal display apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus is constructed so that when video signals from a VTR is reproduced to be displayed, the switching noise portion included in the video signals is changed to black level before being displayed, the section within the picture image area in which the switching noise originally appeared is masked by black level, making it possible to conceal the disorder in the picture image. In a display apparatus such as a liquid crystal display or the like, which adds a switching element for each of the display picture elements arranged in a matrix shape so as to effect the active matrix driving operation, a drive system exits which is capable of varying the number of the scanning lines on the display. A source electrode driving circuit for a matrix type liquid crystal display apparatus, provided respectively in the plurality of partial source electrode driving circuits, are adapted to output the sampling signal into the shift register. Sample signals are output after repeating operations of counting clock signals, the number of clock signals being equal to the number of the stages of the shift register, this number being externally set, with an inputted timing signal as the reference. Thus, the connection signal between the partial source electrode driving circuits which causes the image disturbances, is not required. This therefore provides superior display images.
