A disposable wearing article adapted to prevent indicators from being transferred to a liquid-absorbent structure and to make the indicators develop the color reaction quickly in response to a discharge of body exudates. A disposable diaper has a topsheet, a backsheet and a liquid-absorbent structure interposed between these top- and backsheets. A surface of a first backsheet facing the liquid-absorbent structure is formed with indicators. The indicators contain a hot-melt polymer, an indicator agent adapted to develop a color reaction and a plasticizing oil. The liquid-absorbent structure has a liquid-absorbent core, a liquid-diffusive wrapping sheet adapted to wrap the core. A hydrophilic bottom sheet is interposed between a bottom surface of the core and a bottom surface region of the wrapping sheet. A dimension in the transverse direction of the bottom sheet is larger than a dimension of a region in which the indicators are formed and smaller than a dimension in the transverse direction of the core.

Disposable wearing article

A disposable wearing article improved so that leakage of body waste can be prevented, a change in color which might develop in an unused state of the wearing article can be inhibited and actually discharged body exudates can immediately cause an indicator to develop a change of color. A disposable diaper includes a topsheet, a backsheet and a liquid-absorbent structure interposed between these top- and backsheets. The backsheet includes first and second backsheets and the first backsheet is formed on its side facing the liquid-absorbent structure with an indicator adapted to develop a color reaction when the indicator comes in contact with at least one of moisture and body exudates. A plurality of such indicators is arranged to extend in a longitudinal direction and to be spaced apart from each other in a transverse direction. The liquid-absorbent structure includes a liquid-absorbent core and a wrapping sheet adapted to wrap the core. A bottom sheet as a hydrophobic bottom element is interposed between a bottom surface of the core and a bottom region of the wrapping sheet as a hydrophobic bottom element.

A method and an apparatus are provided for making a disposable bodily fluid handling composite pad having thickness-reduced regions on longitudinally opposite ends. The disposable bodily fluid absorbing composite pad includes a bodily fluid absorbing first pad and a bodily fluid absorbing second pad seperably attached to the first pad. A continuous web having continuous bodily fluid absorbing layer and bodily fluid impervious layer permanently attached together is fed to pass through paired compression rolls to obtain a worked web formed in regions which will become ends of the first pad with thickness-reduced regions. A bodily fluid absorbing web is seperably attached to the worked web to obtain a first composite web. A bodily fluid impervious web, pressure-sensitive adhesive and a separator are placed on the bodily fluid absorbing web of the first composite web to obtain a second composite web from which the composite pad is cut out.

Method for making disposable bodily fluid handling composite pad

An absorbent article in which a plurality of absorbent components is layered, and the absorbent component on top is peeled off after use. The article is configured to inhibit twisting or wrinkling during use. In the absorbent article, the upper absorbent component is layered on the skin-facing surface of the bottom absorbent component and peelably bonded by the temporal adhesive member. The bottom absorbent component has higher flexural rigidity than the upper absorbent component, and the compression recovery rate of the bottom absorbent component is also set so as to be higher than that of the upper absorbent component. It is thereby possible to prevent the bottom absorbent component from twisting and wrinkling when the upper absorbent component is placed against the discharge area, and after the upper absorbent component is peeled off, the volume of the bottom absorbent component is restored, and comfort during contact thereof with the discharge area is improved.

Absorbent article

Disclosed is an absorbent article including: a liquid-permeable topsheet on its skin surface; a backsheet on its garment surface; and an absorbent layer therebetween. First compressed portions and second compressed portions, in which the absorbent layer is compressed together with at least the topsheet, extend longitudinally of the absorbent article. The first compressed portions are disposed symmetrically about a longitudinal centerline of the absorbent article to define a central absorbent portion having the absorbent layer therebetween. The second compressed portions are disposed symmetrically about the longitudinal centerline and spaced outwardly apart from the first compressed portions. When the central absorbent portion is laterally compressed by an external force, resilient portions each defined between each adjacent pair of first and second compressed portions are permitted to exert a resilience against compression on the central absorbent portion.

Disclosed is an absorbent article including compressed grooves () and a rear flexible portion (). The compressed grooves () where a liquid absorbent layer () is compressed and recessed from the side of a skin surface toward a garment surface are provided to extend in a longitudinal direction of the article so as to approach each other the nearest on a lateral reference line (Ox-Ox) of the article. The rear flexible portion () where the liquid absorbent layer () is recessed from the side of the garment surface toward the skin surface is provided to extend toward a rear end edge () from a starting point () that is located closer to the rear end edge () than the lateral reference line (Ox-Ox). At least a portion of the rear flexible portion () is located between the compressed grooves ().

Disclosed is an absorbent article including: a liquid-permeable topsheet on a skin surface; and a backsheet on a garment surface. First flexible hinges and second flexible hinges are formed to extend longitudinally of the absorbent article. The first flexible hinges are disposed symmetrically about a longitudinal centerline of the absorbent article to define a central absorbent portion having an absorbent layer therebetween. The second flexible hinges are disposed symmetrically about the longitudinal centerline and spaced outwardly apart from the first flexible hinges to define support portions between adjacent first and second flexible hinges and side portions outside the second flexible hinges. The first flexible hinges facilitate bending of the support portions from the central absorbent portion, and the second flexible hinges facilitate bending of the side portions from the support portions.

There is disclosed an absorbent article including: a liquid-permeable top sheet; a back sheet; and an absorbent core sandwiched between the top sheet and back sheet. The back sheet is formed of a resin film containing an inorganic filler in a resin base material. The back sheet includes: a stretched moisture-permeable region; and a high optical transmittance region having a lower degree of orientation than that of the moisture-permeable region and/or left unstretched.

Disclosed is an absorbent article including a topsheet, a backsheet and an absorbent core positioned between the topsheet and the backsheet, and having leakage-preventing side walls on a liquid-receiving side of the article. The leakage-preventing side walls extend in a longitudinal direction of the article and lie opposite one another in a width direction of the article. At least a liquid-receiving face of each leakage-preventing side wall is made of a fibrous sheet that contains hydrophobic fibers thermally bonded to one another and hydrophilic fibers shorter than the hydrophobic fibers. At least a part of the hydrophilic fibers form aggregates which are dispersed in the fibrous sheet and are bonded to the hydrophobic fibers.

Disclosed is a sanitary napkin having a longitudinal rear portion. The sanitary napkin includes: a main absorbent region having a main absorbent core between a back sheet and a surface sheet; side regions on both sides of the main absorbent region; and boundary regions having leakage-preventing side walls and positioned between the main absorbent region and the side regions. In the rear portion, the main absorbent region has a stiff portion, and the side regions are protruded laterally to form rear flaps each having an auxiliary absorbent core between the back sheet and another sheet. In the rear portion, a portion of the main absorbent region having the stiff portion therein, the boundary region and the rear flap have different longitudinal stiffnesses according to the following relationship: the portion having the stiff portion therein>the boundary region>the rear flap.

There is disclosed an absorptive article including: a body including a liquid-permeable top sheet, a back sheet and an absorbent layer sandwiched between the top sheet and the back sheet; and wing members disposed on two side portions of the body and extending outwards in the widthwise direction from the body. The wing members are jointed to the two side portions of the body while being sandwiched between the top sheet and the back sheet.

Disclosed is an absorbent article including a topsheet, a backsheet and an absorbent core positioned between the topsheet and the backsheet. The topsheet contains hydrophobic fibers and hydrophilic fibers shorter than the hydrophobic fibers. The hydrophobic fibers are thermally bonded to each other. At least a part of the hydrophilic fibers form aggregates that disperse in the sheet. At least a part of the hydrophilic fibers that form the aggregates are bonded to the surfaces of the hydrophobic fibers.
