An electronic component (encoder) including an operation body is mounted on a circuit board. The electronic component causes a controller to perform processing in accordance with an operation input by the operation body. The mounting board includes a power-feeding leg piece connected to a wireless communication processor so that high frequency communication is allowed, a first short-circuiting leg piece that is adjacent to the power-feeding leg piece via a cut-out portion, and a second short-circuiting leg piece separated from the power-feeding leg piece. The short-circuiting leg pieces are connected to grounded portions. The impedance is adjusted by appropriately selecting the width or the depth of the cut-out portion. The resonance frequency is adjusted by appropriately selecting the size or the position of the short-circuiting leg piece. Thus, the mounting board operates as an inverted-F antenna in which the power-feeding leg piece functions as a power feeding portion.

Electronic device

An outdoor satellite broadcast receiving converter including a waveguide into which a broadcast electric wave enters and in which the broadcast electric wave travels in an axial direction as a first linearly polarized wave and a second linearly polarized wave. A first probe is disposed at a predetermined position and extends perpendicular to the axial direction into the waveguide for detecting the first linearly polarized wave. A substrate is disposed in the waveguide approximately 1/4 wavelength from the first probe and arranged to extend across an open end of the waveguide. A first shorting terminal for reflecting the first linearly polarized wave is formed on a first side of the substrate, and a second probe for detecting the second linearly polarized wave is formed on an opposing second side of the substrate. A metallic case is connected over the open end of the waveguide such that the substrate is positioned between a closed bottom of the metallic case and the first probe. The closed bottom of the metallic case is disposed about 1/4 wavelength from the substrate, and includes a second shorting terminal for reflecting the second linearly polarized wave.

Outdoor converter for receiving satellite broadcast

A waveguide-to-coaxial converter has a dielectric element attached to a ridge provided inside a waveguide. A coaxial line for a converted wave output which is secured to an output side of the ridge is DC insulated by the dielectric element from the waveguide.
